    Skunk Removal

If you can find a trap made out of a solid pvc pipe, they are the best. Not enough room to let the tail come up to spray and easy to transport. Check with local pest control to see if they have one. Cat food is good bait. Smaller live traps are better for them, more confinement. I like to crawl in holes. Shooting them is always an option. Since it has already sprayed the area once, there will not be much difference it he does it again. But, if you shoot, there is a high chance he will spray again. A trap will prevent that.
  2. Gonna cost him an arm and a leg to ship all of those filets home. One great thing about a trip to Alaska, all of the beer batter halibut you can eat for about the price of hamburger here.
  3. Yum, garlic powder and parm cheese. That sounds good. If I am camping, I will shuck it and toss it into the fish fryer after the fish. Fried corn is pretty good too. When I grill it with the shuck on, I just toss it on the grill whole minus the silks off the end until the shucks are dry and burnt on the outside. Then peel and butter. I skip the foil.
  4. I remember when it was for sale. I wondered how they figure acreage on that bluff. The sign was by that little cabin that has always sit by the access point on river. I looked up the bluff and wondered if the 20 acres. or whatever it was, was measured vertically or horizontally. If so, there are several acres of rock that is pretty worthless unless you a rock climber. The actual property at the base of the cliff could be measured in square feet.
  5. That is right, forget about that 3 limit add on 2013. I don't have a spare tag around my house yet.
  6. Maybe you were not smelling the right ones. White Castle has an old ad from the 50/s promoting the health gains you get from eating their all beef burgers. All along it was the after effect that was curing people.
  7. That is a pretty neat little spot. I have been there a few times with the guy that owns Cape Electric. Interesting little club they have there. Nice and comfy.
  8. But it was generated to promote an agenda.
  9. Interesting little blurb from a website that dregs up worthless information. Seems like the hydrogen sulfide gas in farts lowers cancer, stroke, and heart disease. http://theweek.com/article/index/264585/speedreads-study-smelling-farts-is-good-for-your-health Have a belly bomber and live better.
  10. I stopped buying the traps too and have not noticed them either. 2 summers ago, I was running 3 traps and filling a yard sized garbage bag full of them a week. I have not even seen one in the yard this year. And I live next to a vineyard that seems to attract them.
  11. And I believe that you don't pick up a dead one unless his head is removed from his body. He can still strike out of reflex.
  12. My ducks were gone a long time ago. I have to figure out how to stretch 12 out for a whole year.
  13. My tomatoes are running small this year too, but the plants are huge. My small tomatoes like the cherries and the grapes have vines over 8' tall and spindly. Goliaths and Better Boys are pretty tall too and the tomatoes are not going to be much bigger than a half of a baseball from the way it looks. Dad is having the same problem at the farm, I am blaming it on all of the cool nights and rain last month. We are dry now and watering every other day in the raised beds. Corn is going to be small, Okra is only about knee high and took two plantings for it to come up. Cucs are putting on as well as the zucchini.
  14. Alcohol? Snakes must be getting more poisonous this year, they are killing people off pretty fast.
  15. That was Al Bundy. Ted Bundy was a mass murderer or serial killer.
  16. Watching in the sidelines with all of the other Jack Booted Thugs.
  17. It is not a civil war, but a Revolutionary War that we are about a spark away from. We have entered a time much like we were in at the start of this great country. High taxes without representation, Government oppression, Popular vote/Majority vote being over ruled to suit the views of others minor views, Invasion of Privacy, etc has been running rampant lately. The Civil War was about the Slaves, nothing to do with what is going on now that threatens the Constitution.
  18. What is a Chanterelle patch? What types of areas do they tend to congregate? I have never run across them out, but I am not out looking for shrooms in this type of weather. My adventures keep me in water and away from dry land and ticks. Curious to know what type of areas they like to hang out in.
  19. Alot of times you can just look at the levee and determine the deepest part. Unless it is a dugout pond.
  20. Good point, the Feds never block public access to Federal Lands.
  21. That might be him, the troll that lives under the bridge....
  22. Depending on your age, you will have to have a hunters ed course to get a hunting license. And if you plan to hunt, you will need at least a small game license, even with a pellet rifle. http://mdc.mo.gov/hunting-trapping/hunter-education-and-safety/hunter-education-requirement As far as the handgun goes, as long as you are 21, you can openly carry a loaded handgun in a holster on Federal Land and all of Missouri with the exception of a few cities that have an ordinace against it. You would be perfectly legal, if you are of age, not a felon, and not under the influence of any drug or alcohol, to carry the firearm in a locked dry box or dry bag if you desire. That being said, there are restrictions regarding the discharge of any firearm or hunting within in range of any campground, access, or boat ramp. I think there is one on there regarding the discharge of a firearm on the river also. If you are going to hunt, you will have to choose a place other than the above. http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mtnf/recarea/?recid=21676
  23. Heddon Torpedo. You can be deadly accurate with it, work it a few short jerks in a pothole, and it has plenty of hooks to grab on. Nice action and noise. Black, Frog, or Firetiger are my favorites.
  24. I see this one heading to the deep daark hole. Don't know much about it except for an article I read in the Park Hills paper about the local MO Militia going out there to support him. The article was more about the Militia organization and what it does and very little about what is going on out there. That was a few weeks back and there was a stand off of some sort with the Feds and the ones supporting him. I guess I will have to do a little research.
