  1. Fly rods are easy, the butt does not go much past the reel. But Spin Rods have longer handles. You would need a taller box, lots taller.
  2. But they make a mess and outgrow 10 gal tanks fast.
  3. Trailers are hit and miss. Watch Fbook Marketplace for them and you may come out smelling like a rose.. Trying to find new in this age may be a different story. Covid has killed supply.
  4. The wifey was looking for goldfish for a new 10 gallon setup for the grandkids. All the pet store had was black bug eyed things. I directed her to the local bait shop and said she could find them there. Ended up with Mollies.
  5. Were you satisfied with any of the survey questions?? Surveys are usually BS anyway. Much like elections, when they go online they can be manipulated
  6. They tried again today with a new email.
  7. Looks great. Did you come up with the design or find it on the net? I have 2 Clothes Bars inside the Sequoia that I put my assembled rods on when traveling. Works fair on rods up to 8 1/2 ft.
  8. Bounce a tube jig or swim bait up against the pier and let it fall. Cast past the down stream side and let it sink some then set the hook. Its structure in a current, it usually hold bait and fish. We do the same on walls and mooring piers. Sometimes a big one will hang out there.
  9. I have heard that. The cove I fished was that way also, you can see it in the pic.
  10. Last fall after a big front and storm. Fished in a gusty north wind along a east/west bank that was sorta sheltered from the wind. Hit a pod of feeding fish and caught muskie, bass, white bass, and a crappie in the few hours I had to fish it. Stayed there after a trip to LOZ. Really liked what I saw, ready to go back this fall for a weekend.
  11. I wanted to hit Pomme one day, but we stayed on Stockton. Probably hit Pomme this fall.
  12. I am not going to google her, but who the heck is she?
  13. One of the first things was the question about species, tick the box of "species you fish for". I ticked all but Lake Sturgeon. I bet that is a small crowd of people in MO that snag that dinosaur. That led me down the catfish squirrel hole that I bailed out of. The various species of catfish was the last question I tolerated. Started to tick Bullhead and see where it went, but boredom overtook and off to something better.
  14. Gave up quickly like me..
  15. Post a pic of him hitting the doggy door for entertainment.
  16. Kept marking timber standing and down all over the place. Could not tell if the open areas were old fields or stump yards. Navionics does not bring alot of it out in detail. But water appeared to be a few feet higher than normal.
  17. Second time on the lake. We spent a few days at Mt Carmel Inn a few years ago in the fall and fished out of State Park Marina in the Tracker. Trailered the boat to Greenfield and put in upper arm there above where we were Sunday and played with the shad feed. Had several walleye and white bass in the big water out of State Park. My buddy was hitting the walleye early this spring and tried to do it again on Friday nite and Sat. I coaxed him into the bass mode Sunday up there for a little action. The goofy swirling storms we have suffered thru this spring have the fish all messed up. I think there were 2 low fronts in MO on Sat. I did not expect much at all and ended up a fair trip.
  18. Yep, lots of big flat water with trees under the surface. I would have been ok in my Tracker aluminum boat. My buddy got spooked running his 21'Triton glass boat. Navionics maps are fair, but have lots of variances. We switched to Active Scan and found the channel to be in a completely different place.
  19. Bingo Rage Pro Blaster by Strike King
  20. Come to think of it,it may have been Strike King. Had to come from Academy, only tackle around here. I picked them up for Pickwick fall shad balls a few years back.
  21. I bailed on the survey, I screwed up and selected all but the lake sturgeon. That may take hours. I fish for all on list at some point in time of the year except for the sturgeon. Catfish went down a long squirrel hole and I killed it.
  22. Found it in the Junk Mail Folder. I guess I set up a rule about survey's one time. Now its time to blast.
  23. Ammo is starting to show back up on shelves. Academy has been keeping a pretty steady supply of the essentials of the defense calibers. Local gunshops are starting to get in some too. Remington is back online after the bankruptcy and shipped a bunch in the last few weeks. Green boxes of sporting calibers are coming out on the shelves. Prices adjusted for the metals inflation and Covid, but far less than scalper prices.
  24. Feds regulated the Darters and blocked the dams, not MDC.
  25. Spur of the moment trip, searching for a motel near Stockton Lake. Travel advisory, Covid is rampant and attacking all tourists. Goofy internet messages. Made it to Masters at 6 pm on Friday and started hitting a few spots. Found a working bunch of white bass and dropped a spoon below a bait ball to pick out a couple before dark. Otherwise, pretty dead, but wonderful afternoon. Short nap at the Hoot Owl Motel in town and off to the ramp at the Marina by the town at 5 am. We fished the dam up to Googer Creek under Heavy cloud cover and threatening skies. Goofy system churning and looked like would drop all morning. Rain started falling around 10 at the State Park point on way back but we kept fishing. Got heavy and thunder started rolling, we pulled out and had lunch in town. Drove over to State Park and dumped back in at 1pm and fished till 6 when fresh storms came rolling in again. Several shorts, a couple of big blue gills on cranks. Nothing really produced on Sat, pretty disappointed and arm sore. Sunday morning broke foggy and we left Boliver and headed to Ruark Bluff and dumped in. Largemouth were hitting good around the bridge piers on Soft Plastics. Huge bait balls all around on down scan. Steady fish, better than Sat. We found a pattern and I found my sweet spot. We went up river along the channel and hit the bluff walls and timber. Its a narrow river channel and I am not really sold on Lake Maps to keep me in the channel. Gets a little spooky running up there with all the trees sticking up. A few showers rolled thru, but we boated about 25 green bass with a 3 lb as best fish on a worm. Best looking part of the lake I had been on for what I like to do. The Flash Flooding from Sat nite had not really made its way into the lake while we were there. All rivers blown out till we came back into Rolla. Storms dumped a bunch of rain. A little rain and seventy degree temps on a mid July weekend really goof things up. But overall good trip. A little rainbow by Fort Wood to brighten up a damp day.
