  1. But just think how many elk hair caddis you could tye out of the carcass.
  2. She made history by being the first MO Elk hunter of this century. Dad did not "take her hunting", he dropped her off with a cell phone and a rifle and left her to hunt on his own. Good thing farmer brown did not walk thru scratching his head. One of the cardinal rules. KNOW YOUR TARGET!!!!! MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE WHAT YOU ARE SHOOTING AT BEFORE YOU PULL THE TRIGGER!!!!!
  3. Good to see you on here again, welcome back.
  4. I have chased it around my neck now. I guess I will chase it down to my toes if needed. Thanks for all the support. It is going to be a long month, probably will not get results til after Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
  5. Keep up the prayers. That is about all. Everything else is pretty well covered.
  6. Therefore, let me rephrase. Do they have any idea what happened?
  7. I used to have a pet Kingfisher in a blind we hunted, he would perch on one point of the blind and scan the lake for fish. We would feed the perch in front of that blind bread while hunting to pass the time. Chummin for the kingfisher.
  8. Could one guy pack them off?
  9. Every time I walk into that office with my chin up, someone takes a poke at me. Time to start ducking and covering.
  10. Did they ever find the guys that stole the guns?
  11. Pet Test yesterday showed possible cancer in lymph node in non radiated side of neck yesterday. 5 months after radiation and just started feeling better from it. Doctor visit went well otherwise, my speech, eating, swallowing, and taste have returned to almost normal. They were surprised about that. I was surprised because they said there was a minimal chance of damage and they expected me to be much worse. Biopsy scheduled on anniversary of first surgery. A time that I really wanted to celebrate 2 years of free and clear last year at this time. So much has changed in the last 12 months. Back to pins and needles and that quesy feeling in the stomach waiting for results. Probably won't get results until after Thanksgiving. I am fighting a cold, it could have been that causing the flare up. Doctor said it is not where he would expect it to be next if it is cancer. There is hope that this is a false alarm. But after going thru all of this the last few years, I am ready for anything and will beat this one out too. I still have all options to attack it with, chemo, radiation, and surgery because I did not use chemo this last time. Prayers are needed and appreciated, again.
  12. Isis? Missouri Carpfisher Society?
  13. I am wondering why this shows up in a Nationwide gun blog, but not in local news?
  14. Yep. That is a lot of guns that could end up in the wrong hands. The reward has nothing to do with insurance.
  15. Has anyone near Springfield seen any reports of this? I did pick this off a news feed. You would think someone would be squealing about it locally. I guess it could happen any where. Any major retailer could be a target around Black Friday, hunting season, or anytime they send out a major flyer. Just jog down to UPS with a forklift and load up a few days before.
  16. Hard to say, need to look at sale bill next week to see for sure what was in shipment. Could have been a range of rifles to handguns.
  17. http://www.guns.com/2017/11/02/atf-offers-25000-for-information-about-guns-stolen-from-ups-facility-in-missouri/ There is a reward out for the culprits that stole a bunch of guns stolen from a UPS facility in Springfield that were being shipped to Bass Pro Shops. Pretty brazen theft.
  18. I am passing on ducks this year. Still too weak to wade thru mud, get up at 1 am., and lay out all day in the freezing water. I plan on fishing instead. Its been too dry around here for ducks anyway.
  19. I keep a GI Duffle bag at the back door with my camp in it. The contents are a 30 degree bag, 50 degree bag/liner bag, lightweight 3 season tent, ground tarp, full size and half size thermarest mattress, and a full size pillow. If my trip requires camping, I just grab it and go. I am covered for most temps and weather situations in this area. If I need to take it floating, just stuff the bags into a dry bag. Most trips I camp out of a truck or run stuff out in a jet boat, so it stays in the duffle. I tend to stack the mats like Al does, the double mats help insulate from ground temps in your core body also.
  20. Godaddy or Wordpress and make your own. Godaddy will let you build and host at the same time.
  21. Nothing to stop them from going upstream. Any river that connects to the Mississippi should be affected. Only a dam could slow them down.
  22. I use thermarest mattress myself. They pack down well and air up quick with a few breaths. Otherwise, it is air matresses and a DC powered inflator when the family comes along.
  23. I would only rate those as a Corvette.......
  24. Nasty looking tattoos on the arms ruin the beauty of that motion pic.
  25. Wow, I never had that at Barnes/Siteman. Appts were on time and not rushed. Walked in several times with problems and saw doctor or on call one in 20 minutes. All friendly and helpful. Head nurses worked with me on phone or email. Amazing how care varies from place to place.
