I've heard that before also champ and have wondered if this year isn't one of those down years......3 yrs ago was a really good year for me and several crappie chasers I know.

There is a place called Hickory Hollow Resort that puts u way up Kings River right in the middle of crappie as soon as the boat gets wet but it's tricky to find if you're not familiar with the area .....GPS probably get you there tho.... Other place is Viola its a nice corp launch both places I speak of u turn off 86 onto hwy 39 at Carr Lane.

I figured with lots of trout near the dam there would be some pigs down there.

Last summer there was two yaks out from Starkey in main part of the lake and there yaks was the color of the water , I did not see them till I was up on them....they could at least have a flag up.

Another record falls this one in TR, the one I hooked was huge but not this huge.

Today I was trolling for crappie in Kings River and I had been seeing lots of paddle fish on my graph then this evening one of my reels started screaming , first Thot was hung but when I grabbed rod I could feel a fish move....I was using lead core and only had 45 ft of line out I figured it was a paddle fish and sure enough it was I got it to the boat 3 times and when it would hear the kicker it would take off...,.i saw bait it was in its mouth .....I knew by myself landing was going to be hard after the third time at boat the 10lb leader broke.....I'm guessing at least 70lbs it was huge.....I didn't even grab net cause it wouldn't have fit and I have a pretty good size net....I never have saw anyone snagging them in Kings River and the last few yrs I have been seeing several on the graph in the spring so I guess Table Rocks " bonus" fish stocking is working.

He's running 130 miles one direction....They had another fog delay this morning and it was longer than day 1, Mike said its a 2 hr drive to his spots one way he didn't feel like he would have enough fishing time. Now he is in 8th place lets hope he has a back up plan or he may really fall.

Saturday and Sunday starting at 8am if your not on the water yourself.

My bb reels also have the flipping switch, if u get up to Springfield go to BPS and check out their bb rods designed by Parsons and Kavajecz , those are decent rods..
