  1. I know a few guys that buy those 31 series blemish batteries from Ellis for their boats and they have had good luck with them.
  2. Replacing the injector fixed the motor every time the dealer said that was the issue. It seems to be more common among the 07-09 model year engines, but I do know a guy with a 2017 250ho jet that he got earlier this year that had an injector fail on him already. The dealer said the injectors are the biggest issue they deal with on the Etecs. They get a few EMM's and the occasional fuel pump as well. The only issue I've had with my 2013 150hp Etec is that it has bogged or wouldn't fire off and start on a couple occasions. Each time it was really hot outside. When it started bogging while running, I just had to ease off of the throttle until it came back to life. When it wouldn't start, I had to just wait a few minutes and try firing it again. It just acted like it wasn't getting fuel. The dealer replaced the fuel pump, but it still did it a few times after that. I've also heard of other people with 2013 and later model Etecs having this issue, but never anybody with one earlier than 2013. I've yet to have it happen to me this summer though and it has been plenty warm on several of the days I've been fishing. There really doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it.
  3. What went out on the Etec? Just curious because literally the only issue I've ever really heard about them having is dropping injectors. That doesn't leave you stranded, but you can't rut WOT. Seems when something gives on the Optipops, you're dead in the water.
  4. My buddies that own Optimax's have FAR more issues than any other line of motor that they own. It's one thing to have more problems when more people own a certain type of engine, but when literally every single one of them has the same couple issues (compressor and usually followed by a power head later, coils, oil pump seem to be the most common), something tells me that I don't want to be running that engine. All they care about is performance are willing to pay out the posterior to fix them for that few extra MPH. More power to them. I'll stick with my Etec and go a little slower, but not be worried about getting stranded.
  5. Wrench probably loves Mercury's. I imagine they make him a lot of money.
  6. I'm curious as to why only Republicans are the threat to our streams. Most anglers and conservation minded people are more than likely Republicans.
  7. If you think that is bad, you should visit the Wigwam School access on Lake of the Ozarks during snagging season. MDC actually put in concrete slides for cleaning fish on the bank and dumping the guts at the ramp so they must not be too concerned with it. I see a lot of carcasses near ramps on the Gasconade during gigging season and the only ones that stink are the ones that are on left on the bank. Turtles, coons and bottom feeders usually take care of carcasses that are left near boat ramps.
  8. I think I have been checked once while gigging and that was at Bell Chutes, which is a very busy access. If you are launching from a private access, the chances of getting checked are virtually zero.
  9. My relatives caught quite a few of them off the Lazy Valley docks when were down there back in mid July on night crawlers and corn. TI also saw a lot of them swimming around on the shallower flats between Short Creek and Fall Creek as well. It has been several years since we have seen numbers of them like that.
  10. I think this is the best I've ever done in fantasy fishing and I still came in 5th place for this group. Ya'll are a bunch of virtual fishing stick!
  11. Ain't no retreads at Bell Chutes access. Nope, none at all.
  12. I'm st041986 and didn't get any message. Let me know where I should send my contribution.
  13. Freaking douchebags! If they are willing to dump fish like that, they are probably willing to kill and keep game fish too. We went out and killed our share of fish last night too and I stayed up late so I wouldn't miss out on the best part, which is eating fresh suckers on the river bank!
  14. Fortrex or Ultrex? The Fortrex has been a proven work horse for many years now.
  15. Once they get the control board issues fixed with the foot pedal, the Ultrex will be the best thing out there. Hopefully they are to that point. I'm still waiting to see how things go for Brett since he got the most updated board installed.
  16. I havent' had any bucks on camera yet that are big enough to get me excited for early season hunting. I've been shooting a few arrows though just in case I do decide to venture out early in the season. I've still got deer meat left over from last season that I'm working on finishing up so no big rush to get out there and shank a doe just yet. Once Halloween arrives, bow hunting followed by a week of rifle hunting will be my #1 priority and I will log some serious hours in and tree or blind. Fishing is definitely my favorite hobby throughout the year, but being in the woods during that time between Halloween and rifle season in my absolute favorite.
  17. That is simply amazing! It would awesome to catch fish of that length that regularly here in MO, even if they are skinnier.

    "Banner" Day?

Are you always this hypocritical? The only reason anybody is directing their comments towards you is because you started off ATTACKING Al because he doesn't use a bump board to measure his fish. So you are complaining about being attacked for attacking somebody, right? Just wanting to make sure I'm understanding your reasoning here. Don't be a jerk and you won't be catching any grief. It's simple.

Boy, he is really going to let you have it!

    "Banner" Day?

Being long winded has nothing to do with any of this. Being a jerk does. The fish is obviously a nice fish. So what if it's not exactly 20" or whatever he says it is. It's still swimming for the next guy to catch and that is the important thing. You talk about all these fish you catch, but have never posted any fish pictures to back up that claim. How do we know you even fish? Al's length estimate is more believable than anything you have ever said since he actually posts pictures of fish. Your last line is a doozy! Who's to say wrenches kids aren't busy like yours? Do your kids even fish? I know wrench has posted pictures of his daught actually on the boat chasing and catching bass. Also, your kids would see you telling wrench to STFU as well since you literally started off your posts by telling him to do just that. Does it get more hypocritical than that? Also, not every other post wrench as ever made is directed towards others from a negative stand point. He actually does post about fishing on LoZ and offers help to others on fixing their motors since he does it for a living. What have you ever posted that could be seen as helpful to somebody else? All you have done is belittle others and brag about your unbelievable fishing success while never showing any proof that you even actually.

    "Banner" Day?

I brought this moniker up to him before and he denied it. My nuts would be highly torqued with him and I found out that it was without a doubt him.

    "Banner" Day?

So what does it make you since you have never made a post that wasn't condemning another forum member? I can think of a few words and self promoting guru is a lot nicer than what comes to my mind. When you only post to condemn a select few members of this forum, then I would call that a crusade. We all see it, but apparently you don't.

    "Banner" Day?

Sound criticism coming from a guy that has never posted any pictures of a nice bass on a measuring board.

    "Banner" Day?

Some people wouldn't even get out of bed for such crummy fishing. My boat will be on the water chasing these things without me in it. It's killing me just thinking about it.
  25. The key fob controls still worked though, right? If so, at least you wouldn't be totally dead in the water, but still sucks not having a foot pedal.
