  1. In the world of top water, the workmanship and colors are for the caster, not the castee. Those beauties would seduce any fisherman. Nice work, as always.

Love it. You need some ness kraut on them Reubens!!! Fresh, tasty, and enough bugs to digest the cheese and bread tout de suite!
  3. Ks waterfowl seasons/zones are a mess. But the area I'm in is open and the next closest one opens this weekend. Hunted pheasant in MO last weekend, KS pheasant is this weekend. I'll do that and be thinking about ducks later. Drove through Squaw Creek on the way home Sunday. Nothing going on there.
  4. It's a pretty well protected little stream that's more impacted by mother nature than anything we do to it. Not sure how long those trout have been in there, but I think they've seen good times and bad for at least a couple decades and seem to do pretty well in there. Sure, I'd love to take a chainsaw in there and open it up a little. I'd also love to put a fence around it and limit access to me, and well, maybe you, mic.
  5. I thought you might have more good pics up your sleeve. Glad you shared them. I'm getting the itch.
  6. Nice write up, JD. That's a pretty cool setup you've got there. I had to look up Otter Slough -- I know next to nothing about the SE part of MO.
  7. The better to net big fish with! Fishingmill: Nice video, and welcome to the forum.
  8. Man, that's nuts. I've never seen divers with multiple additional tanks attached. And, a car battery?
  9. I was out of town this weekend, so I expected the worst from my lettuce when I got back. Surprisingly its still doing good--so I dodged the bullet. Need to get the hoops on and cover things up.
  10. Looks good. My kinda meal right there.
  11. Don't worry about the cost! It's an investment. Year around (or almost) lettuce will be your reward. There's something kinda cool about stretching the seasons.
  12. Dang -- I skimmed a few of those stories, and what a treasure! Thanks for sharing the link.

No kidding. Buck was non-stop on the Bumgarner stuff, and his flunky color man was always right behind him. I wanted to drive out to the K, track him down and deck the prep school DB. Saw this going around:

It's not just ANY high school. Website says tuition runs $25K a year for a high schooler. It's a lot more reasonable for K-6. And yeah, never did care much for him

Freakin' Joe Buck just pulled a classic STL move -- told the world he went to Country Day. DB!
  18. Everybody loves a puppy. Let me know how you feel about him after he gnaws the handle off that rod

  21. That sure brings back memories -- of jacking up my brother's car so it wouldn't run too good.

Very nicely done. So much of the outdoors stuff produced these days is mediocre at best. That makes me want to watch more of his stuff.
  24. Good looking pup, wrench. Fun times ahead. I spent the weekend down at Roaring River with family, and my nephew brought his new yellow lab. Very smart, very well-behaved dog!

    Further Fermentations

Reporting back in after the cider has been in the bottles a couple weeks. Very, very happy that I'm getting good carbonation. I wasn't sure I'd get it because it was in bulk storage for several months. I added a gallon of fresh cider prior to bottling, mainly for flavor, but there was enough yeast left to carbonate it. The bubbles really add to the already good flavor. Gotta pasteurize so my bottles don't blow.
