  1. Like everyone else I play around now and then with the colors even though I do not really think they mean much. Here is a pattern I used a couple times it seems to work. The jig is a 1/2 oz the colors are dark olive bottom light olive and the top just a tiny bit of what that call burnt orange.  That is a baby brush hog in orange watermellon and is what I use on it. The other one they call sprayed glass. I have used it on my gray jigs. I really prefer a color they have not made in years called Bluegill . That one was almost gray with a few specs of something or other in there. It was my best lure for fall pitching to docks. I think I only have one left. I bought about 10 bags of them every where I could find them. i might do something in black gray and blue with this one. The  Stained Glass is one of wrenches favorites no idea how he fishes it. I bet though rigged Texas.

One think I do not like about zoom they will change colors to much. image.jpeg.68a4c92ef0698d6b71da962144f20

      Hey Harry,

Those look awesome! Thanks for the information! I really need to give the Hair jig a try down there this next year. I like that color pattern a lot!

Are you looking for the full size Brush Hog in bluegill or the Baby Brush Hog. Academy Sports has the Baby Brush Hog in bluegill...

Land Big Fish's website has a few colors similar to bluegill in the full size Brush Hog. One is called "Smokin Blue" and the other is called "Japanese Bluegill"...

      http://www.landbigfish.com/Zoom-Baits/Zoom-Brush-Hogs.cfm

According to Zoom's website regarding the bluegill color... " This is a special distributor color and not currently an active Zoom stock color. Zoom is unable to provide specific information as to the availability in your area. Contact your local tackle store or distributor for more information."

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!

I am headed down there in a week or so I will look at the bluegill. The old color was blue gray sort of. I do not undstand my own thinking some times. I do not believe in color per see. I lean towards either light or dark mostly. Then I get particular about trailors. Kind of silly.

Bushy hair jig are sort of like a semi weed gard. they land gentle.I have tried them on plastic worms of all sizes. With so do results but still like it. Another dilly thing.
