Pictures or it didn't happen, no photo no proof . Make sure it has GPS tag and a time stamp. It helps when finding your house for a meal. The method described is a nice touch but it makes repeating for the next guy to make it. Not sure if this is applicable to us foodies reading the how to correctly report deal on general fishing. Never had an issue either even with fish in one livewell. I have used a hole punch for marking fins. Pain in the rear and elcheapo punches rust up. A stringer works but fish tend to expire quickly in live well where they cannot swim around. Remove clips from stringer does the job too making swimming better. What I have settled on is adjustable removable cable ties. Second person puts them on fish. They provide a nice handle too when filleting plus they work good when you use an ice chest with two or even three people's fish. They come in different colors. Regular zip ties even cheaper work good too but require clippers to remove easy. BilletHead

And this is what I am getting at MoCarp. I have a mother, a wife, a daughter in law, two granddaughters and now a great granddaughter. There are ladies who frequent this forum. You MoCarp have pushed these boundaries on occasion. Yes we all could block you but I am seeing how this all plays out. There is a saying you give a man enough rope and he will eventually tie himself in a knot. You have the rope and what you do with it is your doing. So far you are not doing so well, BilletHead

I am with you man, Could this weather pattern be going this way in future years? If I could look into the future and see this being the norm I would invest in an auger and have at it every winter. Brad has had this ice fishing stuff for many years. He will be having a fresh fish fry today. I doubt there are many here on OAF doing that, BilletHead

I am still wanting to know what you were meaning by this remark, still waiting for your intelligent response MoCarp, BilletHead and others waiting.

Well my buddy Brad went ice fishing the last two days. an unnamed pond on a Conservation area near Herman. Here he is in disguise, He has an hand crank ice drill. I called him yesterday and as he was drilling asked how think? Eight inches of clear ice! Later he sent me some pictures of bluegill and crappie. Caught bass too but released the bass. So today he went again and I called and got a play by play as he was catching fish. Pictures too. He did pretty good. More bass, crappie and bluegill. Needless to say it was neat to hear him tell the story. He also got checked by a couple of agents. It is quite away from the road and Brad said he could not be seen from the road. He seen the agents walk to the edge of the bank and lake ice. They hollered is the ice safe? Brad said yes eight inches. The agents skated his way slowly. He had his license ready. It was checked and they asked what he had in his two buckets. He said fish in one and gloves in the other. They checked his fish. The male agent said do you know how many bluegill you can have? Brad said yes twenty. The agent said I am impressed you knew that. Brad said all you have to do is read the area brochure. Agent said no one does. Brad said I do. Then male agent said you have a couple nice crappie. No one catches crappie like that in here. Brad said as Brad does in his serious voice. Don't tell anyone will you . Agent laughed. Can I check the other bucket lady agent says. Again as Brad says in serious voice. Knock yourself out . she says those are some pretty big mittens you have . It is cold out here says Brad! I think he should of showed her his hands. Brad is like Andre the giant. He has drilled fifteen holes in two days in that eight ice, BilletHead

Thanks man, did you see it was a great Grandchild? I am really not that old , BilletHead

Not legal in Missouri as they are furbearers. You can legally shoot them to protect your property but you need to report it to your local Conservation officer and better have a good excuse. MoCarp what does Bfing mean? Please explain, BilletHead

What other kind of beavers are there MoCarp?

Sous Vide medium rare hamburgers, Went to Springfield this morning to see our great Grandchild that was brought into this world at nine-fifteen last night! We had not planned todays meal but stopped at HyVee for groceries before the ride home. Before you ask yes we did go to the Pro and now understand why we don't go on weekends. Actually the grocery store was worse. I asked the Mrs. if she was interested in some hamburgers this afternoon. Yes and a plan was hatched. I hit the meat counter and seen the meat boss coming out and asked hey man may I ask you a question. Yep so I asked. If I was to eat some of your hamburger on the rarer side am I going to die? He chuckled. So what should I buy? Will this in the pre packaged work? He said we have good meat here and you can eat it anyway you like but get it out of the counter. Good stuff right there he said. So I pick some 90/10 mix, a little over a pound and a half. At home the Mrs. splits this up into four burgers as I fire up the sous vide cooker to 130. Seasoned up with S&P they get bagged up and in they go into the water for an hour. Out they come to get closer to room temp before the grill, Grill fired up and on they go for a minute on each side, Built burgers on Hawaiian bun with a slice of Vidalia onion, ketchup and mayo, lettuce and a jalapeno that had been smoked from the garden. A few sweet tater fries also, I had a problem getting a bite out of the monster sammich but Mrs. BilletHead could , BilletHead

I don't think this clamp on item takes much room. About as big around as a average mans wrist and not much longer than a roll of paper towels. The BilletHeads don't have a large house and we use the cast iron too. We contend with this collection of old better than new stuff that I cleaned and retreated. There are a couple sizes I am missing and wanting also would like a couple sizes of old crusty dutch ovens to clean. Note I said crusty with baked and fried patina to clean up and not rust. If anyone has some they do not use anymore and would like to do some bartering for send me a PM. I have another skillet to clean up still, BilletHead

Got mine. I had three of the dinky things with plastic handles. They said only one was affected. It was one I had painted camo for my toy duck boat. I had to carefully remove the stubborn paint to see the numbers and model. Old one sent back and I am sure someone will get a laugh opening the return package. BilletHead

Oh great MoPanfisher, Because of this tongue in cheek remark in jest this will be on someone's Facebook page assuming and thinking you did this. .

Looks good. Let me see did I take the picture of the mix? Do I get any credit for sending that to you?

How to correctly post a trip report

I see how you are MoCarp, Breeding isn't right on these koi? Were they born on the wrong side of the tracks? Did you belong to the rich kids click in high school? You kind of sound like the big buck only hunters. Got to have a big rack. Isn't big enough. Not the right genetics, it will never grow drop tines. Too old, too young, needs to grow another couple of years before killing. I bet these koi could be stuffed with enough fish food to make them obese and worth catching for some. So koi have been introduced into waters and you are worried about them spreading diseases? Will these koi soon become naturalized like your introduced common carp when they are here long enough? Seems that was ok so why not koi? Remember KOI LIVES MATTER . The rule stands in Mom's pond. Catch and kill policy . Koi season is always open for gigging, stabbing with an arrow or hook and line, BilletHead

Except the other koi pond is like 60 X 120 or so and 10 feet deep. Lets see for the going price of koi I can arrange daily fees of five hundred or so. The only stipulation is it is a catch and eat pond. BilletHead

Still cannot access OAF from home computer
BilletHead replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
Hughesnet is what I have to use here in the boonies of BilletHeadVille and so far no problem for me. Just some FYI but as JD said contact them. Anytime I have had issues with stuff that generally is my fault they have fixed me up, BilletHead -
That's what happens, FAKE NEWS. The old saying I seen it on the internet makes it true is not always true. That and drawing your own conclusions when looking at pictures on the internet. BilletHead

Be sure to cut an extra hole for catching foxes while you are out there fishing. Take a can of peas and open it up and place peas around the extra hole. Watch for foxes. When one sneaks up to take a pea just kick him in the ice hole. Use ice skimmer to scoop him into a gunny sack, BilletHead
