  1. That "right" statement is the truth! Some things cannot be cooked right and I would say that Wrenches boots and liver can not be cooked right. OK liver lovers you can have all the liver available. Anything that takes toxins out of blood will not be on my plate , BilletHead
  2. I am sure there are many people in the same situation one way or another like us. We deal with it as our children will deal with it with us. Knowing what I have to deal with makes me want to have my son take me fishing and let me fall overboard. Sounds pretty crappy saying that I know but love him enough I don't want him to worry about me like I do my Mom. Afraid I will not be there when she needs me most. She knows she is loosing her memory but wants to be in her own home. More mental on me watching her change from what she was once was. BilletHead
  3. Yep Doc said that this morning. Recheck in three months! Thanks gentlemen, BilletHead
  4. Man talk about pressure . BilletHead
  5. Now this is a real report! Thanks, BilletHead
  6. Mighty nice of you ! BilletHead
  7. Richards wife Annette and I would personally like to thank everyone for their input and comments about this boat, It is now sold and I took the cash to Annette this afternoon. It was hard to see it go and I cried a bit signing the title and handing her the money. I think karma may of had a place in this deal today. Like it or not I am going to share the story. Last Tuesday my 88 year old mom was driving to town on a dirt road. She has never had a problem and this was not her fault. She drives like a turtle and was rounding a corner. A full sized pick up was coming fast and mom pulled to the side and completely stopped. The kid almost hit her head on. Driver uninsured. Moms air bag did not go off and she hit the steering wheel fracturing her sternum and mashed her glasses in her face. A ambulance ride to the ER and released. She is sore as heck and it is hard to move. She needs to take deep breaths to keep lungs working well and to keep from pneumonia from taking hold. They also found a nodule on her lung. Today a follow up to doctor which went good and then glasses properly straightened. Mom also suffers from some memory loss getting worse by the day, really worse. So mom insisted after a visit to the store while in town a meal before we went home. At the restaurant I ran into a friend I had not seen in awhile. He asked about my fly fishing this year and my favorite river. We shared stories and I asked if he ever thought of a jet boat? Yes do you know of one for sale? Yes and told him what I had. After taking mom home he met me at the house. He drooled at the craft and asked what the lowest price we could take. I told him and he asked check or cash ! We did the paper work and headed to town for the cash. I trust him but I wanted Annette to have cash and not a check. So dealing with mom is becoming trying, today was one of those days. She thinks she needs another car but in reality she doesn't. She has passed out in the Walmart and refused treatment and drove home and us three kids did not even know until late that night. She will fight us tooth and nail about this. Today I clinched my teeth a few times. She took care of us and it is time to do it for her. if I had not been with mom helping and sharing a meal this deal would not of happened.. Do what you can for anyone you can and what goes around comes around, BilletHead PS the buyer could not believe the boat had not sold immediately. I told him he was the first to actually lay eyes on it. He said I am glad I was the first and got it.
  8. A walking meat market do it yourself deal thanks to mother nature, BilletHead
  9. Nice tho1mas, May have to try that next season but it will not be from the hair on my head . I bet it is nice to still have producing plants this time of the year. Ours are long gone and the ones I see in gardens along the road have those green late season fruits that never turn red. Nice haul buddy, BilletHead
  10. No I have not. I would really like to do one in my version. The SBS I have seen is a bit different than mine I may do one if you all want but I will ask the originator if he thinks it is OK. Am sure he will not care but I would like to ask first. Only thing that might make it better would be Ronnie taking the pictures but I will try . This will all be after I clean and organize the remains of the room where the bomb hit so you all do not be in a hurry, BilletHead
  11. I have had buff ribs that had been smoked and I liked them. I had a bow fishing book once, wish I knew where it went anyway it had recipes in it. One was called lobster imposter. It was drum seasoned and put under a broiler to be cooked. Drizzled of dipped in butter and eaten hot. Very, very good. Sure wish I knew where the ingredients part was. Would be eating them again. That would be the drums punishment for you thinking you had a big walleye from the depths only to see it is a drum. A big one fights good and they will flat slam a SR5 and a SR7 sized shad rap , BilletHead
  12. Old Plug, Get me your address and I will send you a section of fox tail. :). BilletHead
  13. So you just had to bring up the Shuttlecock ? OK then most of you know how I feel about this streamer by now. Ozarks Chillbilly I will fill you in. I like tying them, a bit different than most of the ones out there. Other than my balsa fly topwater baits (prefer to catch hybrid on top) the shuttlecock is my go to streamer. Nice big head to push water and long wavy tail. Side to side action from the wide head like Wrench talked about. The red head was a great one this season. Was told by a guy pink is good in dingy water. He speaks the truth . Are you guys getting tired of me showing how much I like shuttlecocks? You all want to make me start tying again. I have a need to do this by the seasons. Plus my tying area looks like a bomb went off in there. I have a thought about this mess and maybe a different desk. Mrs. BilletHead just cringes looking in here. So the desk would give us an excuse for a clean up. But if I organize how could I find anything? , BilletHead
  14. Nice clean tie job there. Clean and sparse and length looks right. I was guilty of too thick in the standard Clouser. Got them right now but still do a thicker looking half and half. It has been in the past my go to for hybrids. *Note I say in the past. BilletHead
  15. Ha, They turn into one of two types of Big Moths. The Carolina Sphinx or the Five-Spotted Hawk Moth. I too have had them "Bark" or squeak when you grab them. So not a Buzzard but a Hawk Wrench, BilletHead
  16. Thanks, I think . We all should think long and hard. When we loose a right for something it is harder to get it back the next time. I am becoming a believer thinking now we must be careful what we wish for. Some things cannot be undone. BilletHead
  17. How long does it take to learn not to lip a walleye Wrench? On March ninth of nineteen eighty six my cousin and I were fishing on the Osage out of Roscoe. We got on a kick that year using micro spinning reels with four pound line. I was throwing a red and white roadrunner against the rocky banks. I hooked a nice Walleye. The only fish I have mounted. It turned out to be nine pounds and eight ounces. I have caught larger since then but this was my first good one and most memorable. When we seen the fish finally come up next to the boat it became like a Chinese fire drill. Where was the net? Hey we did not need a stinking net ever until this day. When I thought he was tired enough I made a grab and lipped him. Then he came to life but I held on tight and got it into the boat. The damage was done and I was a bloody mess. Back then I was invincible, now not so much . BilletHead
  18. Yep right on all fronts but there are more smallmouth bass in the rivers than walleye. Smallmouth guys want a total closed season on the brown fish so I think Wrench you should be throwing yours back, BilletHead
  19. You guys got it all wrong since someone took us down that dark alley not at all related to my crab meaning of my crab reference. This is what I was told, You shave one half and set the other half on fire. As they run from the timber you stab and kill em with an ice pick, BilletHead
  20. I really do not know what you are thinking about John, I sometimes worry about you. I was thinking more along the line of sea food when I said crabs and I bet Mitch thought the same . Where is your head buddy? BilletHead had another set up and followed through.
  21. The thread has already turned nasty. Have you all considered this? Our lack of wardens being able to be everywhere at once is a problem. We seemed to be stressed this way and everyone I think will agree with this. We also have a problem with the lawless in places. Again all we complain about is the ones doing it wrong and not right. If season is closed you are inviting more law breakers. There are folks that enjoy breaking laws and do so just because they can. So telling them they cannot keep a few river bass is going to make them crazy to say the least. Remember telling a child not to touch something? First thing they do is touch it. Same thing for some adolescents. Tell them not to smoke, drink, have sex, do drugs. They are going to do it anyway. So to the ones who know keep a few river bass brown or green, Tell them no and the bass will die anyway. Education and a change of thought will be the answer. My opinion only and if I get told I am going to get yatch slapped whatever that means I am going ballistic. And for ones who want to know I pee out of my boat and have no problem catching fish. Actually I catch bigger female fish when I do, You all should take a chill pill I think . BilletHead
  22. And Clousers and Asp Streamers, BilletHead
  23. Saber rattling sharpens the swords. Gravel is a good thing it proves the driver has some balls ! Can I say that? Could add tennis, golf ,foot and soccer if I need to edit my post, BilletHead
  24. That goes for you two Mr. Ripplett. It will be a pounce like a tiger and not like a kitty. So you have any gravel rash on that jet foot or are you still just sitting in it in the garage eating potato chips? What time did you get up this morning? if I had your phone number I could call and let you know when I arise . BilletHead
  25. You are a friend and enough of one I know is ribbing. Yes there are others that keep my teeth clinched daily. Self control my friend, self control. Watch out and never set yourself up or I will pounce . BilletHead
