I finally got off the pad getting started. This is the reason I was dragging my feet because I didn't want to clean up this mess, I got some room made so I got started this morning. I am a quarter of the way there. What do I call my streamer? It started off as an Asp streamer I had tied for several years. From other tyers doing similar patterns I have picked up tips and tweaked it into what I like. We can call it a modified asp or whatever. I call it a fish catcher. Just what can you catch on it? About anything and that is a fact. Let's start several years back with the original asp. Tied fairly small I went targeting walleye and succeeded, Many bass and one of my go to crappie flies. I tied these in # 4 B10s for this swap. Can a small streamer catch a good fish? Yes, it can, This is one of two blue cats caught in a couple trips. Drum, yes, white bass, yes. Bass and some rather large bluegill will take them. would be easier to name what I have not caught on them and only because I have not tried in earnest. So here is what we have so far. They are a flat shad like in shape. Pretty easy to tie up. I will do a material list later. PS I prefer to use a sink tip line to get it down. There is some lead wraps but it still sinks slowly and in fast flowing water that doesn't cut the mustard.

Yes, and yes depending on what you are looking for. I have been to several of them. The place in Clinton is way better than the other venue where it was held before. More room. If you would like to sit down and watch some pretty good tyers and ask questions, it is a good time. There are also venders there with hooks and materials to be had at good show prices. Lots of fly-fishing equipment. Open bidding on things and tickets to purchase for bucket drawings. We will probably go again. Ongoing fly-fishing programs all day to attend.
