Because it is true . My main job for last week was find us a hunt for Thursday my partners day off. Made the rounds and found the best of three choices. Choice one had been holding a very few ducks with geese stopping by each day. Two good hunts there already. checked it out. One drake mallard hanging there. Second choice where same thing was going on. 15 mallards there and geese again there off and on all day. Bad deal is it is a busy with traffic next to road. Birds pretty spooky. Choice three was where I had been saving close to home. I hear geese go in and out from the house and knew it was a busy place. Mornings I see canadas converging there everyday. I parked the truck and opened the gate binoculars in hand. Walked to top of hill and peered into the low spot where pond was. What? Mot a goose on the pond? Then I looked a bit closer and in the field there were Canadas stretched out for 200 yards up the hill and 50 or more yards wide. A few got up I couldn't see from behind the dam and landed on the pond. I mean there was so many birds there it made me giddy. Forecast wind out of the south west in the morning I had a plan we would try to execute. First thing I hear when Pat got home is where are we going in the morning. I told her easy hunt. up at 5 am, load everything in truck bed. A dozen floaters and 18 full bodies. Lay out blinds too. Drive right to the spot. We loaded up and drove in. Lowered tailgate and backed right up to dam. Walked right off dam onto tailgate like someone had pushed the easy button. I pitched out the floaters from the dam as Pat set out the layouts. We both put out full bodies on dam and I hid truck. Still 20 minutes before LST gives us a good visit about everything. As the stars disappear and the eastern skies lighten up we hear some in the air. Then we see them. A trio and they pitched right in. I got two and partner got too excited and she tried to pull the trigger with safety on. Hey been there done that no one is perfect.. We had a good laugh retrieved birds and back down in blinds. Not long after that a group of thirty came in no hesitation, when you want to be where they want to be just wait. Little calling the rest is up to the birds. I said hey turn safety off ok and I heard a snap. I shot my one to complete mine as Pat got two. Yea! Retrieve thee three as other birds showing up. Back down quickly I got back in blind when the sky lit up. From four directions here they came and I mean a bunch. as they all go together over our heads it was like a mad dive to see who could hit the water first. Two landed in front of Pat ten foot away in the decoys. I said pick a head please miss the decoys. Boom it was over and in the sky it was chaos. Birds going everywhere with more trying to get in. Picked up shot a picture and as we drove off some came back. I removed all the land marks from the picture . I rendered a quart of fat yesterday. Cut up jerky meat and put in brine this morning. Will jerk it tomorrow or Monday. Maybe get another hunt or two before it ends depending on weather.

Really getting some mileage out of the homemade kimchi. So happy with the way it turned out. Pulled second jar at 10 days ferment. Liked it so much went ahead and pulled third and last one at 12 days. I am finding myself getting into fridge and forking out a bite right out of the jar . So today it was grilled Korean Bulgogi Burgers with Kimchi Mayo. Side of oven fries. Cut fries with a coating of goose fat and a sprinkle of tajin seasoning then cooked on wire a rack over sheet pan so as to not have to turn fries.

Some not so normal side effects from the Mrs. getting the vaccine. She has become like a teenager in heat. Chases me around the house wanting some. About to wear me out. She gets the second shot next Friday. Oh my goodness she just might kill me when that happens. Also did read what is happening to men that get the corona virus. Erectile disfunction ain't no way I'm going to let that happen so I am ready for my turn with the needle. The article also said if you drink whiskey and smoke your member will rot and fall off. Glad I don't have to worry about that

I think I have seen three of those guys in rural towns in South West Missouri. The women folk are pretty scary too.

I get this whole thing big time. It burns my rear big time too. There is some weird agreement between the USPS and UPS . It comes down to shipping things by air. UPS can ship some items that are hazardous by air and USPS cannot but can use UPS to do so. In this agreement UPS can drop off items to the post office then USPS to deliver. All it is is laziness by UPS in my eyes. Oh we did not have any other deliveries in your area that day. Hogwash! Get the same crap with FEDEX. I track some items on their journey. Have had three items carried by FEDEX on truck out for delivery and not show. If I can and have got info correct I have called which is tough to the hub in Joplin and talked to a real person. Three times this rough looking to say it nicely lady has had to deliver the packages on her own time in her own vehicle to me. I cannot believe she may be still with them. She drives a van and drives like heck on rural roads. My last trolling motor arrived with a bent motor shaft. You could see where the shaft had poked a hole in the carboard box and Minn Kota packs the Trolling motors well. I get the Covid deal somewhat. This all was before this debacle. Rant over and i have not seen rough lady on route in sometime.
