  1. I respect your position and insight on this Ketchup. I have never fished a tournament, but I have some good friends that have fished walleye tournaments all over the U.S. I've listened to them talk about the slot requirements in many of the northern states affecting strategy and how important that one keeper over the slot is, as well as finding fish that are at the top end of the slot. I could be wrong, but I don't think culling is allowed in most of these (walleye) tournaments. So my question is, since you have fished bass tournaments in many states, are there some that don't allow culling for tournaments? I'd think not allowing culling would make the tournament more exciting with the fisherman showing the confidence they're gonna put a solid pattern together and catch a solid bag of fish. Particularly the big tournaments that are televised. BTW, not picking on Ketchup here, any of you guys that fish a lot of bass tournaments feel free to chime in! WM
  2. Thanks for doing what you do. I worked nights, weekends and holidays for years. Fortunately I have a more "normal" work schedule now. Thanks for the report, you definitely have the Stockton Walleye figured out! WM
  3. Dang Dan, you can catch 'em anywhere! Good job! WM

  7. I just picked up a long sleeved fishing shirt at Sam's Club yesterday for around $15.00. I haven't used one before, hopefully it's comfortable and cool! WM
  8. Oh, you will. That area is full of stumps too. WM
  9. Sounds like a solid plan. Good luck and have fun! WM
  10. Good to see you back PD! It seems like I read somewhere that a northern strain of lake walleye were introduced to Stockton back in the day, in hopes of creating lake spawning walleye that wouldn't require the yearly harvesting of eggs for stocking hatchery raised fish for eternity. I believe the thought was that the native river walleye didn't spawn successfully due to the change of their native spawning habitat as a result of damming the rivers. Over the years, maybe too many of the big native Sac River fish have been harvested and enjoyed as table fare, and the majority of the fish now shocked up for egg collection are more genetically linked to the non-native northern fish? I'm thinking maybe they just picked the wrong lakes to harvest those initial non-native stocked fish. Wonder what would have happened if the MDC would have initially collected fry from places that produce huge walleye like Lake Erie or The Bay of Quinte back in the day? Feel free to chime in here bfishin! WM
  11. My new favorite Dan Hufferd production! Looks like he's a natural! WM
  12. Nice job there, Gary. Looks like some happy customers! WM
  13. I'm not Gary, but his website is http://www.reelxtc.com/ You gonna hit Stockton soon eyeman? WM
  14. State Park, Orleans Trail and Mutton Creek are the only Marinas on the lake. Happy O's Resort has some slips by the resort, I don't know if they are theirs or are private docks. You'd have to call them to find out, unless somebody posts up that knows. There are several other places to stay, unless a slip is crucial. The thing about Stockton is, the wind can affect where you might want to put in, so the option of trailering to a ramp somewhere might be nice. WM
  15. That should cure the "stir crazy" feeling you've been experiencing! WM
  16. What a hog! Congratulations! WM
  17. Just remembered that The Scheel's Fish Fest is this Saturday. Hope some of you in the KC area stop in and say hi to Gary. I won't be able to be there cuz I'll be at Stockton fishing Saturday. WM
  18. Agree, PM sent. We need to meet up on Mozingo this spring. I'm about an hour and a half from there and will leave work whatever time I need to. Shoot me a PM and we'll get something set up. Slamming a few walleye casting from the bank some evening sounds like a good time! WM
  19. Way to go Dan! If I may ask, were you casting crank baits? WM
  20. Feel for you, man. That just sucks. I've always rented a storage unit from A&A Storage. He's pretty reasonable, but I'm also sure that any storm that might damage the building and my boat is my problem, not his. I just paid my boat insurance yesterday, I think the insurance company has my boat undervalued by five grand or so. Hopefully never have a total loss that I have to argue with them about. Hope this works out for you, dealing with insurance companies is such a pain. WM
  21. No, he was supposed to be mine! Nice walleye Skeeter! WM
  22. Ha Ha! Walleyedmike's place is pretty dang small for that! But, I'd try to make it down to get whooped by ya'all in some sort of fishing contest! WM
  23. Man, that sucks! Hope all are safe. WM
  24. Sounds like an overly cautious interpretation of the "Straw Purchase" law. I'm guessing Springfield Missouri was one of the target cities for the training of FFL's. I can see where your situation fit the "profile" of a Straw Purchase, however common sense failed to prevail. When I get some time, I'll do a little research on this one, you have peaked my interest straw hat. I will say that the intent of the law isn't bad. A couple of years ago, a straw purchased handgun form Georgia, I believe, ended up in the hands of a gang member in Omaha, NE and was used to kill a police officer executing an arrest warrant. However, in my mind two people at the gun counter that can each legally purchase shouldn't constitute the belief that a straw purchase may be occurring. WM
  25. I don't understand, the roof collapsed on your boat? WM
