  1. Thanks all for the well wishes, will be back at it in no time. Happy Holidays to all!
  2. Nice! Heard they were snapping pretty good. What area of lake?
  3. It was done at Lake regional in Osage Beach, we were there in 5 minutes after I decided we better go. The doc says 4 weeks of R&R, we shall see, feeling pretty good but went thru artery in wrist instead of the groin so that is sore. Trying not to smoke especially when fishing for me is going to be hard unless the fish bite like they did right before this happened. Slinging the a-rig is out for a while for sure. May have to switch to the crappie. Going on 7 days without a smoke now and still craving one now and then but wife is watching me like a hawk.
  4. feeling good and will be back at it soon enough, toughest part is the wife hid my smokes and I am trying to quit now which is pretty rough but haven't had one in 4 days so for
  5. i would have liked to be out there today and see if my pattern was working with the a-rig in the wind but no can do, Doctor says no fishing for a month after having a heart attack and having stent put in Saturday so we will have to sit it out for a while. At least I got out of putting up all the Xmas lights ?
  6. Not 5 lbers but our club had 5 or 6 Ks between 4 to just under 5 lbs when lake was flooded to top of dam.
  7. Plenty of ducks here, come sit on my dock and you can lasso them with the net ?
  8. Caught a big one this summer on a long tapering point that was loaded with streaking fish on my depth finder and had several whites as well.
  9. I usually mix it up with a little bit bigger bait on middle farthest back hook. Not sure it matters. I had some old ones already superglued and rigged from last year and they were weakened from the salt and went thru a few. Usually use bone color but like the white with black back as well. I think the wind is the key with the rig, along with shad around of course.
  10. There was probably a good jerkbait bite today if you could get it past the whites, they were bumping the a-rig on just about every cast in one location. Wish I would have got out earlier, I am sure I left a big one out there that could have been caught today. Was just a picture perfect fishing day.
  11. Went out today from 12:30-4:30 to cloudy windy conditions. Didn't take long before had 2 keepers in the boat. Ended up with 8 keepers and some shorts and around 10-15 whites. A-rig did the trick. Most around 2.5-2.75 with a good 4 lber.
  12. Water temps were 52-53 as of Monday here around 25 to 28 mm with dirty water on main lake and stained in coves. Been pulling water down for a few days, 30 CFS.
  13. Then I'll have another problem, a hangover ?
  14. 96champ, you were definitely not the only one out there, 84 Boat AiA tourney out of PB2, 18+ won it. Sounded like the bite was tough for most anglers today. I was going to go this morning but went shopping with wife then rain started up and said no thanks
  15. I think they run their sale on Invizx later in year, didn't see it in sale yet
  16. Yes over 50 and shoulder and knees are fine but the inside of my elbows kill me after fishing and sometimes just day to day. Sometimes just holding a full cup of coffee will hurt. It's hell getting old. Pretty sure its arthritis
  17. I am at this point now, either tennis elbow or arthritis on both elbows and after a day of fishing both are sore as all get out. Along with an index finger that I set the hook on a brushpile and hit the bottom of my reel with my knuckle in witch rod came flying out of my hand and still gets sore from last June. It is at the point of doing something, may give it a try
  18. I have been checked at Pomme a few times and never at LOZ, in fact I was checked at Pomme this year. Maybe I just look like a fish slayer ?
  19. Went out yesterday to dirty water on main lake with a stain in coves and water temps down to 54-55 around Linn Creek area. Could not find a topwater bite with just a few small Ks and one hybrid on a secondary sea wall about 2 lb. tried waking a spinnerbait when wind picked up with no takers. Most consistent bite was on the Eakins jig in coves. Threw whopper plopper, spook, spinnerbait, squarebill and jig.
  20. Water temp 57-58, you can still catch some on buzzbait covering lots of water or if really windy switch to a spinnerbait
  21. Yah I bring them back to dock, I am sure most if not all go elsewhere to where they are comfortable. Not sure if they stick around there cause I never fish for bass off dock.
  22. Went out today around 10:30 to 4:30. Caught fish on spinnerbait, whopper plopper, squarebill and jig with the jig producing my only 2 halfway decent keepers. Ended up with 9-10 fish with 2 or 3 keeper kentuckies with the 2 LM.
  23. They are starting to pull water now for the last 4 hours 25CFS. Have not been out for a while, been chasing the deer. How has fishing been up your way wrench.
  24. Nice job MOsmallies! Been out last 2 days with a buddy and it has been tough on us. Had 3 keeps Friday and 4 yesterday between us with no size. Can't find a deep bite and all fish caught in 12 foot or less towards back of coves seemed to be most consistent for us. Went out earlier in week when we had cloud cover and had fun catching a limit of kentuckies on condo dock corners with a couple good ones on the whopper plopper until I cracked it banging it on a dock pole, switched to the bone WP and they wouldn't touch it. The best bite was a BIG flathead with a head bigger than mine that bit a shakyhead, a 40 to 50 lber which got off right at boat. Buddy could not move the fish off bottom for a while with a 7 foot heavy rod with 20 lb test
