Nice! Dad was down and took him out for a couple hours Thursday and caught some small fish, never boated a keeper. Pretty much had to stay put in an area as he just had a hip replacement. I put him on a little cleo and he caught white bass, crappie, catfish, drum and a couple kentuckies, he had fun.

That is why nature has a way of making sure the species survives as not all spawn at the same time as you well know. Some may have spawn and others eggs got wiped out. I know I had several that were on beds around dock when the rains came and water came up 3.5 foot and got dirty, sure those got wiped out and others moved in. I know I was still catching crappie that hadn't spawned and were full of eggs that weren't even close. So the ones that did spawn the fry had plenty of cover to make it, more so than when lake was normal. I am sure you still have some spawning fish right now, not many but some.

No, a sputterbug 😄. The sputter-fuss is actually older. This one was made in 50s I believe.

Yes there is a lot of floating trash along with some bigger stuff as well. Not sure what you all are talking about shutting off the water, they have slowed a little but are still pulling 39K+ CFS, which is a lot of water.

I heard the Bud Light tournament is no longer, lost the sponsorship

A guy I know who fishes tourneys regularly there and does well says it is fishing better, he had a 6.82 lber a couple weeks ago. I have had a few good days there in the 90s. It was usually feast or famine.

Nope, still chocolate. You don't need clear water for a spook when they are shallow, just a noisy spook 😄.

I uploaded photos from my iPad last night without problem, which would be no different than an iPhone I think?

Fished around PB2 area before bringing boat back to dock and caught a couple of kentuckies going up a bank and when I got to the flat point it was on. Had 5 keepers and lost 4 more all on the point on a spook.

I will be there the following weekend fishing a small derby, first time fishing there in about 10 years. Hear it is fishing better these days.

Had our club tourney this weekend and got lucky with weather Saturday as we delayed our tourney from 6:00 to 6:30 takeoff and we took off to sprinkling rain instead of downpours and then rains quit and cloudy skies rest of day. Started on a bluffend that in prefishing had 2 big ones on first 2 cast and I threw a spinnerbait and partner a spook, he caught 2 nice ones, 1 LM and 1 SM. Then we ran some bushes were we caught some good LM prefishing and we blanked so went to spot 3 and I switched to the Ned (big mistake) and partner kept at it with spook and spinnerbait as well as mixing in jig and ended with a limit for 11.80 and I had Big bass at 3.93. We had around 12 keepers Thursday on Ned, grubs, spooks, spinnerbait, 14 keepers Friday. Caught tons of fish on Ned and grub but just not many keepers. Tourney won way back in bushes on mostly points on rage blade and jigs catching mostly all LM. Other guys that did well using bottom baits in 15 to 20 foot deep as well. Had a great time, caught a lot of fish. Good luck fishing.

Ohio'ans Fishing Lake of the Ozarks for the First Time
WeekendWarrior replied to BoroBuckeye's topic in Lake of the Ozarks
Yep, strange year it is. I had probably at least 7 beds I could see behind and around my dock before the rains, some where there for awhile, 2 beds were Kentucky bass so I am thinking they all got wiped out. I am quessing there are plenty still spawning now. -

Rigged and ready! Good thing is I don't have to take off my 20 lb test ?, and if all goes well I won't have to pick up a spinning rod -

Heard that about shad spawn, also heard bass fishing was "off the chart" good, have been crappie fishing some the last week as a bunch of the guys were down here for a week long annual trip but it's been mostly drinking and cards ?. The crappie fishing is strange with a bunch of little ones and then you will run across a few piles of good ones right up on the bank. Did have one night we went out crappie fishing and couldn't stand it after catching a nice bass on a road runner and whipped out the spook right before dark and caught them pretty good. Headed for Table Rock Thursday, hope fishing is half as good as it is here. -

1. I think most will have spawned but there will still be some spawning fish. 2. The flooding has only affected the water color which is stained in areas and chocolate milk in other areas, bring some spinnerbaits, crankbaits. 3. Try main lake points or just inside some main lake points, pulling a bunch of water thru dam right now. 4. There is no timber but plenty of man made brush piles and docks. Try skipping jigs, creature baits, shakyhead behind docks. Also topwater will be working as well. have fun and let us know how you did. Mike and Paulette will take good care of you at the resort. -

Marks Glass is in Osage Beach, has a new shop where the old Temple Resort was. -
Last weekend in the heavy rains you could see the bottom in 10-12 foot on a rainy cloudy day, never seen it that clear.

Yearly Fishing trip - Camdenton area
WeekendWarrior replied to brianetz1's topic in Lake of the Ozarks
A buddy came over the dam and said it looked good, said it looked like water around toll bridge was dirty but was looking from a distance. The Nebraska B.A.S.S. Tourney the leading weights have been 19+ lb both days I believe for last 2 days so they are biting somewhere as always. The Glaize is dirty as well. -
