Just a heads up that I was up in StL and went to BassPro for their sale they had on the flash mob jr. For $9.97, well I didn't notice but all the barrel swivels have changed to a cheap chrome version of swivel, taking mine back next time in StL. Just a heads up for those who use them

Looking for good new fishing holes
WeekendWarrior replied to Girschwinn's topic in General Angling Discussion
I give plenty of fishing reports on here but never give out specifics, just pointing in the right direction. Had someone PM me and I pointed him to where I was catching them and he said REALLY, I just told him the fish don't read the magazines. ? -
Yes sir, me to. I have a bunch of the old Eakins jigs in the 3 packs, now they are in 2 packs and cost more

I have stuff I haven't used in years that I bought in bulk and then you get rid of it and your fishing habits change and now you have to buy at full retail price so I just keep it just in case ?

I like my wave runner, wish I had a depthfinder on it. I can get in and around the docks much easier scouting out spots to fish along with looking at bedding fish in the spring. It's much cheaper on gas that's for sure. You could definitely trick one out, I have seen them with running lights on some of them, that's scary. All we need is a drunk bas$&@? flying around at night on one.

Man I am getting to love the winter fishing, I have only really winter fished since moving down here but yes I have caught some good ones for sure. As good as yesterday was, today was just the opposite, had only one keeper today and a couple other misses. I was reeling my cast in pretty fast to make another cast and had a 4 lber try to take my rod out of my hand. That fish was still pretty active or starving ?. Only good thing about today is I got 5 more good piles in and marked about a dozen more good piles fishing new banks.

Got my package today, super fast shipping. Craws look great, can't wait to try them but it is hard to put that a-rig down ?. Thanks guys! -
Went out today to put a couple of brushpiles out and get in a little fishing. Boy do I wish I had a old pontoon boat to put out brush, it would be so much easier ?. Got my 2 piles unloaded and started fishing and pulled up to a waypoint and bam, first fish of the day a nice 5 lber. Bounced around fishing secondaries and brush with the a-rig and ended with 14 fish and 6 keepers. Fun and beautiful day for January.

why do you have to pay at PB2 and not Coffman and Shawnee Bend.

Well I definitely will not be renewing my yearly pass that is for sure. Howling at the Governors can't hurt, it works for other groups ?. Yep, fisherman are there own enemy sometimes

Saw this on Facebook and it is so to the truth Why don't taxpayers trust government? Let me give an example: In Nov of 2016 Missourians approved a 10 year extension of the Parks and Soils sales tax that goes to the Department of Natural Resources. In January of 2017 DNR DOUBLED the fee to launch a boat at the Grand Glaize ramp from $5 to $10. So it now costs $10 to launch a 16 foot johnboat at this ramp. Just as an FYI, this is the only state park in MO that has ever charged any fee to launch. We extend the sales tax for parks and then the parks division puts it in our shorts by doubling the fee to launch a boat. I encourage all Missourians to contact Governor Greitens office at 573-751-3222 and ask the Governor to rescind this fee and get the bureaucrats at DNR under control!!!!! An that's why I don't trust government, especially the bureaucrats at the MO DNR.

I checked regatta permits early this year for our club and actually the whole month of April is crazy with tournament dates, more so than in past years.

I think the Evinrude G2 has a industry best 10 year warranty, I am in no way affiliated with them but that is some peace of mind. Have talked to some guys here that have Phoenix boats and love them and said they saved $10K off of a Ranger. I just do not know how these boat companies think the average fisherman can justify spending $60-70K on a boat and use it 10-15 times a year, that is crazy!

I have scanned thru some ameren stuff and see nothing regarding brushpile permits for someone putting brush around their dock nor can I see how they could enforce it. I know it is done all the time so I wouldn't worry about it as long as it is just natural brush. Now I would not put brush next to someone else dock without asking them because they may swim in area and not approve. My neighbor has a Labrador and retrieves in the pocket I am in so I do not place brush shallow to where it would hinder that as I would hate to see dog get caught in line or hooks in a shallow pile. Send me gps coordinates for brushpiles and I will approve ?.

Congrats guys -
MO Department of Natural Resources raises fees at PB2, are now $10 and Annual Passes are $100 per year.

The 3 baits with the business end on them are same size but just different colors. I mix it up to give bass different looks (colors) thinking they will find the one they think is the one. Usually have at least 1 white one on cloudy days. I use hitchhikers on top 2 wires to keep them up top and a buddy makes me 1/8 ounce 5/0 or 6/0 gama hooks which keeps weight down. It has worked good for me.

Went out at 1 and fished till just before dark, ended with 6 fish, 4 keepers today. Worked up to inside of a main lake point and had my first keeper of the day, a nice healthy K on a stickbait up close to the bank. Moved to another main lake point with brush and caught a nice LM on a-rig in 10-15 foot. Hit a few piles close by but had no wind, nothing doing. Moved to some secondaries 3/4 way back in cove with deep water close by with some wind and caught another nice LM and a K on the rig, again in the 10-15 foot range. Moved to some more piles but no wind and had a couple shorts on a jig.
