  2. Great post flytyer57. I am going to add a few more pics to my posts as soon as I can get out. Might find a nice one to just put in my sigline like that one laker posted above. If I am lucky enough.
  3. I gar in darn tee if I am taking a shot or blasting at birds. I am doing a litte bit more than damage. As far as a fish on the bank momentarily being somehow inhuman thats also hogwash. If you handle fish at all you do more damage to the slime than beaching one quickly. As far as using any towel, net, mesh hand bag, cradle these actually have more surface area and there for have a greater possibility of removing or displaceing more slime than some beach or a little pile of damp grass or leaves. I don't know when beaching as a practice has fallen out of vogue, but it has been just another of the many techniques to land ones catch since the sport of fishing was started. Try reading a book by any of the actually published Authors written in the last twenty years that mention landing a fish and show me one that does not simply omit the strategy but speaks out against it. Then I'll write him up and give m the same piece of my mind. Keep nit picking the way good law abiding people enjoy our resourse and see what happens to it! JJ OK rant over. Justin take a camera and bring back some pics with that report!!!
  4. Japan Indicts Anti-Whaling Activist By MARK McDONALD Published: April 2, 2010 (snip) HONG KONG — Prosecutors in Tokyo indicted an anti-whaling activist on Friday for illegally boarding a Japanese whaling vessel in February. News agencies in Japan said Peter Bethune, 44, a New Zealander, was charged with five criminal counts — trespassing, assault, illegal possession of a knife, destruction of property and obstruction of business. “These charges are bogus, and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society questions the credibility of the entire Japanese judicial system for entertaining such absurdities,” the anti-whaling group said Friday on its Web site, calling Mr. Bethune, who is a member of the group, “a political prisoner.” Mr. Bethune allegedly used a jet ski to approach the whaling ship Shonan Maru 2 on Feb. 15, then cut through an anti-boarding net that was draped around the hull and climbed on board. He presented the captain of the whaler with a bill for $3 million for damages to the Ady Gil, a former racing trimaran that was skippered by Mr. Bethune when it collided with the Shonan Maru 2 on Jan. 6. Mr. Bethune was taken into custody by the crew, who held him for a month as the whaling ship returned to Japan. When the boat arrived in Tokyo on March 12, he was taken into custody by the Japanese Coast Guard. The Ady Gil was being used by the Sea Shepherd groupto interfere with Japanese whaling ships during their annual hunt in the Antarctic, south of Australia and New Zealand. The bow of the Ady Gil was sheared off in the collision, and Mr. Bethune and his crew were rescued by the Bob Barker, another Sea Shepherd boat. (end snip) More at source link provided above.
