  1. Unless of course, they ski too close to me while I'm using my new Louisville slugger ! I wander If a Ned rig works on those flying carp! On a serious note. Our beautiful, deep clean lake cannot possibly benefit with those zebra muzzles. So clean your boats.

  3. Or maybe someone could ask "what's a Ned rig"? That hasn't been beaten totally to death just yet!
  4. When the top water starts, I have had some success with the smaller pearl fluke (not the super). I run a longer shank hook down further on the fluke, for those bass that hit it short, with the hook out on the top side of the fluke. i then just use a barrel swivel about 2' above the hook., no other weights. The fluke seems to lay on the top longer, with a very slow fall. Mostly using 6 or 8 pound mono or flouro, with a light medium rod. The weight of the barrel swivel allows me to toss it a good distance. It's a pretty simple setup.
  5. To the jerk in the white colbalt with red on the side by emerald beach landing Sunday 7am If you know this person, let them know I said hello, as I know that no one that frequents this sight would do this. The old guy in the little red boat was fishing about 200' from me along by the docks. You and your two other jerks of friends decided it would be fun to run full speed between us about 7am Sunday. As you approached, I put my hands up, as to show concern as to what you were doing. You had the entire other side of the lake to go around us, but instead went right through us. I could have made a short cast and hit your boat, but decided not too. You almost capsized the old man in his 14' boat. What got me mad, was the top water bite just started. What got me madder thou was how close you were and the laughing the three of you were doing when I raised my hands. To intentionally do this showed zero class. You do not deserve to own that colbalt. Karma will play a role someday. Maybe I will see you and your boat out if gas someday. Better yet a blown engine. . I will be sure to swing by to you real close to say hello as I laugh.
  6. They ain't biting during the early morning either.
  7. I would be open to limiting when the bow tournaments were held, like during spawn season. It's 6 of one or half dozen of another. I saw a lot of splashing up shore, hoping it was bass, only to see it was tons of carp, destroying beds or chasing after fry this past spring. So, how many more bass would be saved at the expense of a few carp, that are beginning to be seen in larger numbers? So, does less carp mean more bass? No one is saying that bow fisherman killing bass is ok either.
  8. I have also seen more gar and snakes then in the past. More bow tournaments are ok with me.
  9. killing for fun... when, i'm for letting them have all the carp and gar they want.... but throw them on shore for the wildlife or in the trash. Otherwise, they are littering our waters... Now snakes are a different thing.... i'm all for, killing every snake ....
  10. abkeenan... only problem with that logic, is if you were to ask her about her purses, shoes and makeup, she'd state she was doing it for you and it's a necessity. there is no winning in this matter.
  11. it's not a problem or an addiction, but instead, therapy
  12. i would think a garage sale is order. once in the closet, it will be there a long time. Sell the stuff, keep some money to buy more and take your wife out for dinner and give her a nice gift. then go out and buy yourself some new stuff!!!

  14. Thanks for sharing again everything needed to catch walleyed on TR.
  15. rps... what kind of hook or jig are you using? i've seen in the past your table rock setup, but i'm more curious as to how you fish without continously getting hung up?
  16. hmmm wonder if you took a curly tail and cut the inside straight like it show in the picture, would it get the same action.
  17. I'm a part time Table Rock fisherman, but think about it full time. I appreciate everyone's input on this web page. Maybe sometime i might actually get to add something. I had the opportunity to fish the cold weather, the days of the Elite tournament. I fished some of the same spots, that i saw boats on prior and after they fished. I only caught one or two. Blamed it on the cold wind and cold water. I even fished the same baits. What i did learn from watching the pro's and reading these reports is the following: 1. boat control is a must. I had a hard time keeping my boat from drifting fast down the shoreline, unless i had the trolling motor going full speed. 2. There are fish where i fished. If the reports of them catching sometimes 20-25 a day are true. I need to be more patient and fish slower and longer at each location. 3. Be sure to cover the entire fishing zone, before picking up and moving to another area. So, boat control, patience and fishing very slow will be the plan the next time down.
  18. Appreciate the replies. How is the navigation down that far? Depth ? Thanks again.
  19. I will be down at Emerald Beach the 1st week of April. Every year, my neighbor and I fish the Kings River for White bass. Usually we put in at sweetwater. Last year, i had heard the white bass fishing was great down by the town of Beaver, just over the AR line. Anyone ever fish this area and will the 1st week be the time to visit this area? For those that have fished both areas, which would be a better bite? Thanks, GL
  20. But the greatest and still living table rock fisherman is Pete Peterson. Pete lives in Emerald Beach and has lived on the lake since the early 80's. He fishes every day in his small red boat at that end of the lake. He makes most of his own tackle. I'm glad to be able to share a coffee with him whenever i'm on the lake and always learn something about the fishing.
  21. I appreciate all of you that have contributed articles and help this past year. I'm a part time resident and fish the lake when I can. But most of all, i enjoy reading these posts every day and it takes my mind to Table Rock. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and God bless each of you and yours.
  22. Thanks for all the advise.
  23. Reason I am asking, is that I am about to replace my 4 wheel drive pickup and some dealers say the all wheel drive will work the same as the 4wd. Others have stated that the All wheel drive will not allow me to pull the boat on the beach. Has anyone else had any experience with the All wheel drive pulling the boat on the shore?
  24. Would any of you be able to tell me if there is a difference between AWD and 4WD? I usually park my trailer in the water, on the pebble shores of Table Rock. Will the AWD work? The 4WD in low, results in no spinning or digging in of the tires. Will AWD be a problem with spinning tires. Thanks
