  1. Awesome info brotha' much appreciated.
  2. Salmon
  3. I will be leaving for sturgeon bay in a couple of weeks. The smallmouth open I believe is the second week of May. I may be wrong though. However, I have never found lack of room to fish. Overall I would highly recommend a trip there to anyone. I have been making a journey there every year since 2011. Most of the trips have been fall trips that allow a wide variety of fishing. VERY large walleye, cast and retrieve salmon and jumbo smallies. All within the canal. You can fish salmon in the morning and evening and smallies and walleye during the day. It is an anglers paradise. This will be my first spring trip And it will be for post spawn walleye and prespawn smallies.
  4. Thanks! Info i I was needing!
  5. Thanks for this Jeremy! Very good read.
  6. Stone sheep Bill... British Columbia. If one wants to wait. You can put in for a draw in Colorado or wyoming for sheep.....but on average it's about a 15-20 year wait on the draw. My uncle drew Colorado bighorn and a goat tag in the same year after waiting 21 years, and tagged out on both. I was looking at the new Ranger Fisherman series and the 21 footer by the time a guy gets set up for trolling and such would be pushing or a little over 90 g's.
  7. Thanks a million guys! Saved me some gas money.
  8. Can anybody fill me in on the water conditions for the river arms. Muddy? High? Etc... Want to come down but 3.5 hour trip with poor conditions would be depressing.
  9. Cheers Bill, great pics and fine report as always......by the way there are a lot of whites up the Kings right now. Hickory hollow on up.
  10. You have no idea my friend!! Of course, that would put me about 13 hours from sturgeon bay, Wi! so I'm darn if I do and darn if I don't.
  11. I fish creek chubs down there fairly often in the spring when I get down there. Caught some real good post spawn fish on a bb and chub. Enables you to spot the fish and just camp on them until they get aggravated enough to bite. Like what has been said, you have bi catch to contend with. With the water this cold, chubs keep very well, once the water warms up they can be a pain. Definitely a go to. Sat in a hole up beaver creek one day and had 14 eyes from from one spot around a laydown in the channel.
  12. Awesome laker, I have a trip like that on my list of to do's.
  13. Did any of you guys check for shad balls over creek channels? Last couple of years I have done well with silver buckshot rattle spoons vertically around shad.
  14. Last post was a joke by the way........or was it. :-). Hell, what do I know, I'm just a troll. He,he. Or a sheat disturber you be the pick.
  15. yeaaahhhhhh, you know the thing about trolling though, the bass are always biting, and ANYBODY can catch them. What a silly little fish. Thats why we should release them all when caught because they would be SOOOOOO easy for anyone to fish out, including my 6yo with a bobber and worm. Hey Scott, by the way, DONT DO IT!! What the hell is wrong with you man!
  16. I found myself further back in creek arms than the main lakE and found fish there. Of course there was a lot of baitfish activity in the creek arms as well. And ditto what rps said.
  17. Sorry...... Just "trolling" through. Champ made a funny, he,he...
  18. Sorry to offend anyone if I did. There have been times when a certain topic or post got under my skin and I quit checking the forum for a couple of weeks. DD sorry a thread about your successful day got hijacked.
  19. Wow this is getting unbelievable- first post about people trolling information and not posting anything. Next crab about the guys who want to post about their info. Some of you people are unbelievable. I will continue posting my reports as I have. Just because I post my techniques doesn't mean someone can go out and duplicate it to the tee and have the same results . And In regards to crappie and such. Do you think you are fishing in an aquarium. These fish move and move constantly. In regards to flicker shads sorry your not the first, I have some originals. Good god, some need to get a life or quit posting... For me business as usual and when I get down I will report. Off my soapbox and have a good day.
  20. Fun, fun....good day duck! Hope to get down next week.
  21. And regarding the topic name of this thread. I quit caring about the flw when they dropped the FLW walleye tour. It was one of the best walleye magazines out. THEN they started sending me their bass edition magazine after writing and calling them to stop. Anywhoo, carry on gents, I'll just be trolling about, both on the water and this thread ;-) I'll be on the bull shoals thread now...I need to start trout fishing to or something.
  22. bass guys...you guys are funny. Lol.
  23. rps is my hero. The man is a table rock walleye guru. The only time I can consistently catch them on the rock is in the spring on the Kings, he does it regularly. Lead core is a great method however it is one I have been sliding away from. I have begun using snap weights system 50/50 method which amounts to shorter leads and easier control. All trolling methods have their place though. You can troll cranks in water in the 30 degree range. Just choose the right styles and methods. When pulling in cold water, it is usually best to troll around 1mph and stall the cranks regularly. As the jerk bait guys the hit is usually a whisper. The same thing occurs when stalling on the troll. It won't be a slam but just slight weight. i much more enjoy trolling with the water in the 40-50's like we currently have. With this weather I don't see it staying that way for long. Hope to make it back down in a week or so. ;-)
  24. Duck I seemed to always have better luck down there during and after the spawn on creek trapped chubs and shiners. Don't know why as I always think a guy should be able to tear them up on them this time a year. If you have some info please enlighten me. Caught a couple of jig and minnow there last year this time of year but that was it. the best we have gotten there on BB and minnow was 30.5 but that was after the spawn.
