  1. Look at the dildo heads on the highways killing themselves driving while under the influance or texting or dialing their 'phones or reading the sales reports or watching dvd video, why should these useless garbage be any different on the water. There were 2 of you and one of him I would have handled it differently............
  2. Paper Mills have polluted many "wilderness" lakes the mill at International Falls did a pretty good job. Same problem in Arkansas.
  3. I can smell 'em frying with potatoes, onions, beans, cole slaw, pickled tomatoes and can't forget the hush puppies!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I just bought my tag a few weeks ago #450 so i guess thats how many boats could be out there.....
  5. Sounds like somebody can't catch fish and needs to blame someone else. I agree with Bimmer if you don't like the way city utilities runs their lake, then you should just take it up with them i really don't care. I find Fellows to be well run with quality fish available. I was over there Thursday with 6 other trailers in the parking lot and two guys had small bots they put in their pick up when they left did not have a very good day fishing but I ended up with a couple of those 20" fish that aren't there anymore I left them in the East end of the south arm in extremely shallow water.
  6. Jack I lke that and Watermelon red flake worm texas rigged with a 1/16 or 1/32 oz worm siker on a 1/0 ewg hook. I also like the 3" chartruse shad gulp alive minnow on a 1/32oz jig made with a size 1 hook. I usually fish it as a jerk bait and then let it fall in current. I also only wade fish anymore and have only fished the James the last few years.
  7. Thanks rps, actualy its calcium deposit in the right shoulder along with my right thumb had left rotator cuff problems in thelate 80's thats about the only thing that doesn't hurt nowadays. Went to the orthopedic MD last week and my bigest problem is bone spurs on my spine and hip and rest and ibuprofin helps me get going the next day. If I new I was going to live this long I would have....... no I wouldn't have, I've had way too much fun.......
  8. I was out on Fellows Lake today and right now my right rotator cuff is telling me I'm too old, but what does it know.......Nothing else is hurting so I guess I'm good to go again......Pass me the ibuprofen.
  9. You drove me to drink last night, and now you want me to make decisions? Well I'll try, I think the one with the lilly pad is real only because I think I've seen that in the past. It really is amazing what can be done with the computer both of the fish look like they were painted or photoshop.............My question now is can the computer app actualy put acrilyc on canvas?...........Or do I just stick to paint by numbers?........
  10. When I grow up, I will be forever deeply scarred emotionaly having found out that BPS covers or Outdoor Life photos might be photoshoped. What can you believe any more? This might just drive me to drown my sorrows in alcohol This is as bad as finding out your girlfriend wears falsies. Shame shame
  11. Meant as a compliment. Borrowed it from Pat Mcmanus (maybe the the best outdoor humor writer I ever read) book titled "How I Got This Way"
  12. So that's how you got that way!
  13. I see you fished at Shelvin Rock last summer......
  14. You are too young to remember my theme song from 1955, '56 whenever we walked into Thomas' Soda Shop (The Greeks) put a nickel in the juke box.........."some may call me Joe, some may call me Moe"..... It didn't get much better than that!
  15. We start reeling at the speed that will keep the weight making contact with the bottom and then the fish will tell you how fast to move it, of course some time believe it or not sometimes the fish will tell you to go home they are not going to bite. If there's a current I always let the bait drift with the current but once again the fish will decide how fast they want the bait moving.
  16. Up noth we caught them on bottom bouncers draging crawlers while fishing foe walleyes never thought about a pattern they just were wherever walleyes were. Wtermen is right abot the taste....
  17. Yearly boat permit is $35.00. If I was going next monday I would look at the south bank on the south side I haven't been able to fish since last Nov due to my wifes medical problems (back surgery) so I can'tgive you any current info but if every thing goes all right with the doctor I might get out next week myself. Be aware that Fellows can be a problem when the winds kick up especialy from the southwest. However it is my favorite lake to fish.
  18. Actualy the alligator shoe was a Jimmy Houston story....I've used that a bunch of times whenever I came back from La. It might have origonated with Justin Wilson. The shark patrol is mostly true maybe.......Maybe I'll tell you some time Cap't Bobs tale of Frog giggin' at Old Monroe and how getting passed by your boat on Hwy 79 is never a good thing.......
  19. Holy cow I thought this was supposed to be a light hearted question to kill time. Shame on you F&F look what you started! Al, I've seen 12 year old up on Cedar in NW Ontario land 20 lb class Muskie and Northern Pike and after Dad netted the fish the kid unhooked the fish and released it by himself.
  20. F&F,I don't believe any of these alligator tales because some guy told me a long time ago he had seen alligator shoes in a store in St Louis. So the next ime I was in Henderson LA I saw a gator sunning itself on the Bayou Aimee and he wasn't wearing any shoes. So don't believe any of those alligator tales your buddy is sending you........ Ron there are no Sharks in Missouri because a member of the River Des Peres Yacht Club sometime in the distant past was appointed MO Shark Patrol and after due dilligence and many late night interviews inside establishments that featured a flashing neon sign could find no evidence of sharks........However he did get into a squable with law enforcement over using MO highway patrol door decal with shark covering highway on the door decal. I heard it was settled amicably late one night while sharing a product from 721 Pestalozi Street under on of the aformention flashing neon signs.......This was related to me Capt'n Bob Kearns of the RDPYC so it's got to be a no bullsh$% tale.....maybe

    Petrino

Good ole Arkansas what do you expect. I lived there 7&1/2 years the moral armpit of USA.
  22. True story we had an Organization againts stripers speak at our anglers club at Hot Springs Village because stripers were destroying the largemouth fishing in Ouchita either by eating all the largemouth or eating all the baitfish and they were the reason that Lake Ouchita was not a world class largemouth lake. i wonder what happened to those guys. Can you imagine when even a 10 lb striper would grab a streamer on Taneycomo?
  23. They do alright in lakes too with yhe weedless head.
  24. The park in Ozark with worms or crickets and always remember fishing for a 4year old has to be what keeps them interested, when my grandsons were little guys quie often when fishing got a little slow Grandpa had to watch the bobber while Nathan, Josh or Joe could defend the lake from that stump over there that had just turned into Darth Vader with that stick over here that had turned into a light saber. As soon as the bobber moved it was back to fishing
  25. In Arkansa every November within 2 days of stocking Bows in Lake Catherine below Carpenter dam It seems as though every Strier and walleye show up in the first mile below the dam. I don't know about 80 lb stripers but while I was living there a over 50lb striper and a 16 plus lb walleye were were caught by guys throwing crankbaits for Largemouth Bass and I never had a problem catching a limit of rainbows there and I thought it was the best Largemouth Lake even better than Degray or Ouachita.
