One of you guys with better computer skills than I could look at really old In Fisherman archives I seem to remember articles related back a long time ago when it was owned by the Linders. It also seems that most of studies published by them were out of the U of Wisconsin. I think this is a very interesting subject. I often wandered why fish dissapered from the upper Ouchita river in the winter but below Lake Catherine on down to Malvern the fishing never seemed to fall off. I assumed it was because the waters coming through the turbines kept that stretch of water fairly warm in the winter.

So let me get this right, now if another employer came to you and offered you 20 or 30 percent more money and a better healthcare package more vacation etc., you would turn that down if your employer did not match the offer and then go home and tell your wife you turned down a better lifestyle for your family out of loyalty to your boss? So your boss is more important to you than your family. You must have a different relationship with your employer than most of us.

It's a buiness. I think it is bad for both. Pujols will never be treated as well anywhere else. Had he stayed he would have been considered equal to Stan Musial, he gave that up. The Cardinals have to worry about selling tickets they have to win without him. If they had signed him being competative competative would have worked, not now. If they did not do a good job, they would not be in buisness. I also believe if you can aford it hire a guide you can learn more in a day with a guide than you can in a year without one. I think the BCS is bogus it was thought up by the SEC and rigged in their favor. I would prefer going back to how it was before the BCS. I really never cared who won the national championship I just enjoy sports. I don't need a playoff to determine a champion. Other than baseball, who cares?

I want to jump in here and ask this Northern Iowa has beaten Iowa State and Iowa this year. If those teams finish 5th or 6th in their big time powerhouse conference and UNI finishes say second or third in the Valley which team does not go to the NCAA Big Dance unless they win their Conference Tournament? The same can be said for St. Louis U. and the teams from the big time conferences like Washington who they beat soundly.

I had same problem with last spring with a well know seed company after investigating found out there records had been hacked and Discover Card issued me a new caed but no one at that company ever bothered to let me know until I called to find out why the seeds had not arrived. I told them they are no longer getting any buisness from me. Not that they care because most people will put up with that and keep on buying from them.

You might see what your library has on the shelves. Libraries some times will buy subscriptions of magazines if someone request them. Most of them will let you check out back issues of magazines. I don't know where you live but you might wan't to try the local chapter of Trout Unlimited and go to a meeting, although I don't fly fish much anymore I have found Fly Fisher people have been the best when sharing knowledge about the sport without a lot of help from them I would never have attained the recognition as the Complete Tangler in the fishing world. I also believe that are a lot more honest than the Lagemouth Bass Fisherpeople although obviously, not nearly as honest or good looking as people who wade warm water streams for America's fish the mighty and beloved by all patriotic Americans, The Smallmouth Bass!!! You also might try the Fly shop next to Fin n Feather on S Campbell in Springfield or Tims place at at Cassville or that fellow at Lilley's Landing. But be warned, Fly Tying can lead to other things, Such as building tapered leaders arguing about the merits of a flourocarbon leader, staying up late at night in your basement den making fly rods or worse ,buying expensive rooster necks so you can tye the perfect dry that catches al them big rainbows on the Battenkill not even knowing where the Battenkill is but if you ever find out you will be ready. It's a hard cycle to break and even when you think it's all behind you one day you find youeself in a fly shop and have no idea how you got there......

Add me, thats two. I don't like your slot limit, I'd rather have no keepers between 12 and 21 inches and keep your limit under or above. I don't normally keep anything over 12' to eat but if I want fish and I can't eat the smaller ones than I might be tempted to kill larger fish. Sorry, I like fresh fish. I haven't killed a Smallmouth since 1999 in a lake in NW Ontario and haven't lilled a stream smallmouth since the early '80s. But if it's a Largemouth,Kentucky, Crappie, White Bass, Walleye, Catfish, or Trout they are released to the Grease.

So true I encountered 3 0f them critters at Shelvin Rock the third Sunday in August as I entered the water these were very friendly critters but there is just somethimg about a long on tooth female with a waistline bigger than mine in a bikini, obviously under the influance of the demon rum, wanting to know if I want to party. Just when I think I may have bought my last piece of fishing equipment ,I pick up my brand new Bassmaster magazine and find out, right on page 52, 50 must haves for 2012! Plus 28 honerable mention must haves and I do not have even have one off the must haves. What's a poor boy to do? How will I show my face on the water without the VMC Spin Shot or the Berkley Havoc Bottom Bouncer. How will I be able to compete without all of the must have junk?

I agree chief, I just get tired of people spouting Big Oils bullshit about every renewable energy resource. One example, a few years ago we were being told that wind turbines wouldn't work and they would kill all the ducks because they would fly into them. I guess big oil forgets that still into the 1950s wind mills were used on a lot of farms includeing my Dads cousins out near Hermann Mo and I never saw a dead duck under any of the windmills.

No American Serviceman or woman has died fighting over the source of Ethanol and I can't remember any Ethanol spill poluting any river or stream and the purchase of the the raw materials for Ethanol have not been used to finance terrorist attacks on this country.

Yea, I actualy talked to Bart and Danny Turbyfill at there Outdoor spots store in Benton AR about a year ago and they told me at that time they only new of one person in the area who had got a permit. You are so right about the kids, I did some volunteer work with hooked on fishing not drugs and I remember one group was Jessyville middle school age and at least half of them had never held a fishing rod in their hands. At my age I'm probably not going to be around to see it but in 20 years my generation will be gone and the next generation will have spent their early with a joystick or a mouse in their hand instead of a fishing rod or shotgun. If that happens I will feel that my generation failed as stewards of the land.
