  1. Don't think much changes for me, either. Would rather be in the woods or on the river than in the city with all those people. My wife is immunocompromised so I am already careful about what bugs I bring home. It will be interesting to see the long lasting social implications to this. The probable changes in our civil liberties will be facinating, possibly scary. I think most people's memories are pretty short but I also think that this has already gone on long enough to cause some major ripples down the road.
  2. Help me out here.. Tampa Bay? Who cares about the Tampa Bay Lightning? Greased Lightning? I cancelled no hockey hulu live like greased lightning. Never strikes twice? Even if lightning never strikes the same place twice, I think we had a good shot at back to back cups.
  3. HOCKEY! Been a tough pill to swallow for this Blues fan. I had high hopes for our playoff run. At least we're saving a little money. No reason for Hulu Live without hockey. Cancelled it the day they suspended the season.

    What's Cooking?

Jumped in a long time ago and handle all the cooking. Can't have boxed mac and cheese with powdered potatoes everynight. 😀 Good thing she won me over with her cookies long before she attempted to feed me dinner.

    What's Cooking?

My wife only knows how to make powered potatoes. Had a couple years where my niece requested her aunt's "special" mashed potatoes for her birthday dinner.
  6. With my wife working from home now, I can no longer tell her I was working on honey-dos when I was on the river all day. She got notification this morning it will be an additional 30-60 days at home.
  7. Thanks! They were grouped up and feeding.

    What's Cooking?

    Are you using a service?
  9. Fished the lower river this morning for a few hours. Cold weather has knocked the temps down but the fish are still biting.

    What's Cooking?

Yesterday's BBQ chicken is today's Wrap.
  11. I'd like to see them leave the season open year round for spots on the lower part of the watershed.
  12. I think you're spot on.
  13. Ramp was a ZOO today when I took out and my boat is a muddy mess!
  14. Jealous of the spot lock!
  15. Fished down there a couple times last week and had the same experience, including the muddy ramp and lot. Lots of little bass and whites. Planning on hitting the water tomorrow and debating whether to poke around down there again or hit something a little further up and focus on bass. What were the water temps yesterday?
  16. Poor man is always an adventure and definately a show, especially on opening weekend! IIRC, they only hunted 24 spots last year with almost a foot less water. Been hard work, but, we are working birds. Had commitment problems today, we'll see what tomorrow brings. Looking forward to Thursday!

    What's Cooking?

Tis the season! Tuscan duck over couscous.
  18. Glad to hear to you got some chances! Been a while since I've hunted one of the duck parks, but, the agents were always helpful in pointing you in the right direction as to where to setup if you didn't know the area. We shot a mixed bag. Lots of little and big ducks around. Woodies seemed to have had a banner year with all the high water!
  19. If hiking in, I can carry more dekes in a good backpack bag. The slotted bags stack great in the boat and save the paint on the dekes. Tangles aren't much of an issue either way, T-rigs slove that problem.
  20. Texas rigs and slotted bags are the way to go for shallow water.
  21. Saw a bunch of birds today while getting stuff setup. Mostly big ducks. Shanks is advertising 60k birds. Should have a good chance at seeing ducks. Good luck!

    What's Cooking?

Duck season is almost here. Pulled the last of the ducks and geese from the freezer for jerky today. Always makes for a good snack in the blind!
  23. Be happy to save some feathers for you!
  24. Lots of water up there, supposed to still be above flood stage opening weekend! Going to be an interesting season. Except for the occasional bean field, no crops on the east side of 79 along the river.
  25. My favorite time of the year! Cleaned all our dekes a couple weeks ago and working on getting all our ducks in a row. Blind is currently underwater with a rotten floor and no way to fix it until the water comes down. Plans B, C and D are all in the works.
