I've fished walleyes,mostly on lake Erie and Canada and never had much of a problem catching them,but I have to say these COE lakes are different .The thing that really surprised me was catching them right through through hot part of the day and how shallow they were. I learn a little more about them every time I go. Heading up to Stockton for a couple days in the morning,taking some of the grandkids. Mike

Good, good, good for you,I'm going up tomm. for a couple days,be fishing around Ruark Bluff.I usually fish the flat and the breaks around it across the lake from RB. Prob. bb and spoons/jigs or trolling all depending if there's any wind.Last time up found them in 10 to 20 ft.at varying depths.Only a few eyes but a limit of really nice Crappies trolling Flicker Shads and Flicker Minnows.Pink was pretty hot. Maybe we could take up a collection and get limit out and his wife to give a seminar. I do ok drifting with a bottom bouncer in a rod holder and jigging a spoon when the wind is right. when dead calm i have a little trouble motoring with a bb. and usually just go to trolling.I'm finding these corp lakes to differ from where I used to fish. Here,I do just as good through the hot part of the day,especially if theres some wind. The other thing I've been surprised by is how shallow the walleyes can be caught during the day. I've had the most success fishing the breaks to deeper water around flats. I need to try fishing the points more. Mike

Thanks ,I was a little curious about that too. If there's a good wind I'll usually just drift and use the trolling motor to control the drift.Think I'll try it with the trolling motor. Thanks again,I really appreciate you sharing the way you do.

wow! That's good eye fishing anywhere.

To be honest I have better luck with Dipsy divers and quit fooling with the boards years ago. I know they have some newer ones that might be better. I usually troll two behind and 1 off each side and vary the depth and amount of line out. I also use tadpoles and find them easy to use and effective,but they don't get you an offset from the boat

I used a foam backed vinyl like they use on house boat decks.A guy near me has remnants and I got a pretty good deal.I like it really well.Pretty easy to put down. Mike

Most ducks are pretty good smoked but my favorite is teal with Canvas backs a close 2nd.

Think you got them figured out.Good for you.I 've smoked a lot of fish,ducks and geese but never walleye.I'll have to try that .

Good for you Dan. This has been a really rough start to the year for me. I wanted to start hitting it hard in Feb. but a shoulder surgery set that back. I was just about healed up from that(made one trip to Norfork) when I went blind in my right eye and had to have emergency surgery on that 3 weeks ago. I might try to make it to Stockton tomm. with one eye. Thinking I'll get my wife to drive,I think I could work a jig.Keep after them,I like seeing your posts.Hopefully limit out will leave a few for us. God bless,Mike
