  1. Will you please elaborate on that statement. I've seen boats on fire on the water. I never want to be in one..
  2. I have been thinking about buying a new trolling motor but haven't kept up with the latest developments. I have been a Motor Guide guy for a long time but may switch. I am running an X5 36 volt it handles anything that I need to do but I fractured 3 ribs and ruptured a lung this past winter. The lung seems fine but the ribs haven't healed well. I can feel them at the end of the day after raising and lowering the trolling motor multiple times. So I guess I am looking at a 36 volt trolling motor that can deploy and stow by itself. I know that they were around several years ago and guys had trouble with them. What are today's like. What kind of features do the different brands offer and how reliable are they. I'd like to hear from guys who have them or guys who have fished in boats with them.
  3. Just remember the faster you go the higher you ride in the water column and the worse it will hurt if you don't make it.🤣

    Best Excuse

Couldn't come up with an excuse so I had to fish Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and this morning.
  5. The evening bite was pretty good. I had 9 in 2 hours. This morning I had 14 on Ned, spinnerbait and buzzbaits. From surface to 20+ feet. Keeps are hard to find.
  6. I guess I am a glutton for punishment. I am camping at State park and fishing for the rest of the week.

    Painting

    Very nice.
  8. Sorry they are gone.
  9. The numbers at Stockton have been down the last few years. There are still lots of them around but not as plentiful as in the past. However, Stockton has not had the severe die off that Bull Shoals and Pomme de Terre lake have seen.
  10. I have 4 boxes of Seaguar Red label 20# test. 3 are new. One has filled a couple of reels. I'll take $15 for all of it, local pickup. Shipping extra.
  11. Hummm I wonder why the water in the Little Sac is so colored. It was muddy enough to leave a nasty line on my boat and motor.
  12. sixstring what is the water color up around CC?
  13. We fished between Cedar Ridge and Aldrich today. The farther up river we went the murkier the water got. We covered a lot of water with search baits and top water. I'm estimating that we fished between 4 and 5 miles of bank and timber. We caught 9 bass with 6 of them keepers. We lost 3 keepers right by the boat. If we only fished 4 miles then that is a fish every 2000 feet or so (too tired to actually do the math). Quality was good but the numbers sucked. The water temp was between 81° and 84° which is quite a bit cooler than last week.
  14. I fished again on Monday. I only saw 2 other boats fishing. I fished from Hartley to Rouark and back and from Hartley to State Park and back. Only had 8 fish with maybe 1 keeper. I can not find a consistent depth or pattern. I've not been able to get fish from any of the brush piles where they normally hang out in the summer. Ned's not even working or I just haven't found fish. Are any of you guys fishing Stockton? Have you found a depth where they are hanging out?

    Flats???

There is a big flat just up river from Birch's branch. There is also a flat just north of Googer Creek. Guys walleye fish on both of them.

    Flats???

There is a big flat west of the 245 bridge on the north side of the lake before you get to Adams Branch. It normally has walleye, crappie and whites in it.
  17. Have you considered a deck boat? My wife had one for a few years. It fished fairly well except in the wind. If you can improve your balance you might consider a Bosu ball. Because of some medical conditions I have had balance issues and keep one handy. When I feel a little off I drag it out and spend several periods per day working on my balance until it get better.
  18. I have spent some time looking around for off shore places where schools of fish could be hanging out. So far I have not found anything. Stockton may not be deep enough for the setup like the Rock is.
  19. It is officially tougher than tougher than a boot. I worked my butt off today for 1 spot, 1 smallie and 1 spec. 19-34' deep. Water temp 85-87. Anyone want to buy a good boat and 30 some setups.😈
  20. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I hope you don't have a 3rd shoe to fall. I sure hope some are around standing timber as I am taking a guy long polling on Monday. Of course we will be fishing shallow standing timber and shallow brush piles.
  21. Glad to see that you made it back on the water. It has been brutal for quite a while. I hope it cools down so I can spend Sunday morning down by the dam. And thanks for your service guys.
  22. I hope it show up things better than the Aqua View camera that I bought. It was a total waste of money.
  23. We fished hard today. Went up the river early looking for a top water bite. NADA, tried some flats with spinner and buzz baits, NADA, worked bluff ends and pockets to 30' NADA. We finally found a place where we could slow roll a spinnerbait and get a hit now and then. We wound up with 11 bass only 2 of them keepers. Most of them were caught in the afternoon. Hot, muggy and tough. I think I'll go to Colorado or Wyoming and find a cool spot for a while.
  24. How did your tournament go?
  25. So is there anyone fishing right now?
