  1. You caught more than we did. We fished from Hartley up and into Son's Creek. We caught them on jigs and spinnerbaits. We wound up with 20 and no keepers. We also only caught spots and greenies, no brown fish for us.
  2. I don't think you will get much static about eating spots. Lots of guys would like to see all of them gone from our lakes. I haven't eaten one in years but they would be my preference to largemouth any day if I were going to eat them. They don't have the frog smell that largemouth do when you catch them.
  3. Anyone have a flat eye Arkie jig mold? I need about a dozen 1/2 oz or larger. Will buy or swap.
  4. I had 16 today with 3 keepers mostly on spinnerbaits and jigs.
  5. You also have to take into account that you may be +- 20' to begin with. Most gps units aren't that accurate.
  6. When I first got into structure scan I had the side imaging at the back. I'd see all kinds of stuff while fishing but could never get a good fix on going back to it so I mounted one on the trolling motor. I use it quite a bit when fishing banks that I don't know real well.
  7. That is basically the way I do it also. I remove the lateral bones and the rib bones before it goes on the smoker. I baste it with olive oil before adding seasonings. Crappie 13" and longer also smoke very well.
  8. The only way I can eat dove it fillet the breasts, deep fry them, then dip them in KC Masterpiece.
  9. Yes they do. That is why you can only have like 4 over 20 inches.
  10. The hybrids have broke lines. Note the pic above.
  11. Didn't know that there were any hybrids in Stockton.
  12. I use a lot of braid on spinning reels as they don't seem to like fluorocarbon over about 8#.
  13. I have 2 of them. One for shaky with 12# fluorocarbon and the other for Ned with 6# fluorocarbon. I have tried braid on bc reels but don't much care for it except on my A rig setups.
  14. The forecast was for clear and light wind. It turned out to be cloudy with a 10 mph out of the SE. I hit the same area I have been hitting. I couldn't get bit on white or gray so I switched to a War Eagle Golden Shiner 1/2 oz spinner bait. I caught some dinks (spots and smallies) early on then the wind died and the bite went south. A couple of fruitless hours with jigs, craws, and Ned and the wind picked back up. I fished my good stuff again and started catching fish. I only had had 6 in the morning. From noon to 1 I managed to get 12 more and 6 of them were keepers. It has been a while since I had a limit of bass. Now I think I'll let them rest and go to Oregon for a couple of weeks.
  15. Good luck to you. I'd like to be on the lake at 6 am but it is over an hour's drive down for me. As slow as I get around I'd have to get up at 03:30 to make that time.
  16. We hit the water this am with spinner baits. Caught some on jigs but most on spinner baits. We wound up with 5 keepers out of the 33 that we caught.
  17. That is as good a ratio as I've heard of. I haven't seen a 15" spot this year so far. I'd like to get into some of those. That size give a good fight. It sounds like you burned a bit of gas if you went very far up the arms. I hope I can do half as well today. Thanks for the report.
  18. You probably ought to narrow the field by listing some species that you like to try to catch.
  19. There have been trout in Table rock down by the dam for years. I know of no place that feeds to Stockton that has trout. I also have never seen a shoreline like that anywhere at Stockton. So I call BS.
  20. External gps antenna and heading sensor. Also included a T connector for the NMEA network. TYD lower 48 states $150.
  21. I don't know but I have an Aqua View and have a lot of trouble seeing anything on Table Rock or Stockton.
  22. For the same reason white bass don't get to 4# down there, no threadfin shad. Much of their food outgrows them when they are small and they grow up kind of skinny.
  23. I got to fish 2 mornings and 2 evenings. Most of my fish were on spinner baits but no more than a couple of keepers per trip. Numbers were pretty good, 49 for the 4 short trips. Best fish a 4# lmb. Personally, I don't want to see any toothy critters put back in there. I'm not sure about stocking smallmouth. Biologists say it takes 10 years for a smallmouth to reach 15". I find plenty of them below Edge Island.
  24. I had 17 bass Monday evening with only one keeper. Tuesday 18 with 2 keepers. I still don't know where those old girls are hiding out. Spinner baits, jigs, tubes, and Ned have been producing for me.
