I have never quit using them. I prolly have a hundred or so in the boat right now. The two best trips of the year so far have been on them.

"caught more and better fish back of coves in the middle of the coves." I don't quite understand. Were they in the back of the coves, in the middle of the coves or in the middle of the back of the coves?

There is a public launch ramp in the right hand cove of Hawker Branch. It is just below the (h) in Zara's picture. Also if you were to stay at State Park you can choose State Park Marina cove for Little Sac or Hartley Branch (just across Hwy 215) for Big Sac access. There is also a launch ramp in the back of Miller Branch.

If you don't have a map, get one. Wind direction can play a big part in what is safe for a small boat on that lake. Listen to the extended forecast and find out what is predicted. 417-869-4491 will get you a weather service recording.

Congrats. That is a good looking bunch of fish. Were the fish that deep or was your boat setting in that depth? I haven't been able to find fish that deep all year long.

They will. It would require buffing out but it will come back. Doing a regelcoat job is the only real cure.

Same here. I use an AGM 1150 cca so I have plenty of juice to run everything and crank my old Opti in the winter. -
Shucks. I was hoping for some swim jigs and senkos in the brush. Thanks for the report. I'm heading down there and trying to decide what to take along.

It might be worth your time to call Scott Robinson at Marine Repair Center in Springfield 833-9191. See if you can mail him the cable and get it repaired. His dad did one for me when he was in the shop. -
None of them looked like kids to me and in several of the boats all three were fishing.

Friday I was fishing on the lower end where there are normally few boats. There were boats every where and most of them had 3 guys in them. I noticed Crabtree Cove lot was nearly full of trucks as was the one on the Stockton side. There was a trailer that had Central Pro Am decals on it. Are they having 3 man tournaments now. Please explain what I saw.

We used to do that along or at the end of bluffs. Normally set up in 25-30 fow.

Don't use a "car" battery. Use a deep cycle made for trolling motors. Get one with a large reserve capacity, preferably 200. You can lengthen your time with 2 deep cycles that are hooked up parallel. That means run a jumper wire from + on battery 1 to + on battery 2 and another wire from - on battery 1 to - on battery 2. They both need to be the same size and age for good performance. -
It may be the oil reserve tank float. My Opti did that a couple of years ago. A new upper oil tank took care of the problem.
