Those clouds really helped stay reasonably comfortable. I didn’t even have use my neck fan. I didn’t hold up my end but what I caught were decent smallies. That end of the lake with the clear water is beautiful. Thanks for the invite.
When we used to do that on Stockton, 1/4 and 3/8 bucktail purple/orange was the best (never really used maribou because it is a pain to tie) in the middle of Hartley at about 40’ was generally a good producer.
Fenwick HMG 6’6” GTC 785 lifetime warranty. Shimano Curado CU 200 with 50# Power Pro hi vis yellow. Selling as a unit. $50 plush shipping. Willing to meet close to Springfield.
I just mounted my second Shimano Curado BFS reel. I put it on an Ark Rod 7’6” m. It casts a 3/32 head on a TRD a country mile with 10# line. I got it at the Tackle Warehouse sale for $188. I’m busting a gut to try it out on the water.
Back when the Heartland series was going my boss ran the “catch and release” boat. He was short handed and talked one of my salesmen into going with him to the tournament on Grand. When he came back the salesman said most of the fish were dead. They slit their stomachs and dropped them over the side of the boat.
I typically am more accurate with casting vs spinning setups but I have gone to it because of a shoulder issue and I am trying to avoid surgery. I just put a Shimano Curado bfs reel on a Gloomis 6’9” ml Bronzeback rod. I am amazed at the casting distance that I am getting with a light weight Ned rig.
The bite was good while it lasted but like someone threw a switch it ended. The lake is pretty enough for just viewing wit all of that clear water. Thanks for the invite, gotta go time for a nap.
