  1. I rig them differently depending on what where I am fishing. Open water relative gravel bottom---jig head inside with no weedguard Rocky bottom to light woody---jig head inside with weedguard Some grass---Trigged with outside bullet sinker Moss---Trigged with bell sinker inside the tube to minimize gunk on the bait
  2. Yes there are some in the Pom arm but very few. I have only caught 1 on the main lake. All the rest have been up the river toward the Cave Hole.
  3. I know a guy who moved from TX and he had a heck of a time getting everything into MO. If I were you I'd wait but I'd also check with license bureau to see just what you will need to do so you can get things in order ahead of time.
  4. I have used most wet cells and have opted for AGMs. I have the biggest sears die hard agm for a crank and optimas for tmotor. All is good right now.
  5. I've made about a dozen from 3 or 4 different wires. They all work and none have failed. I have experimented with wire length from 5 " to 10". My biggest problem is baits getting hung up in each other or in swivels. I use an epoxy resin for attaching the wires together and have used several different anchoring systems. No two of mine are alike. The one thing I have about decided is the Arig is a late winter bait as I can't get bitten on it right now and can catch them on a spinnerbait.
  6. So I guess your pond will be dropping from the 843 in the bushes level back to slick banks. Is that correct? I think that is going to play hobbs with my bamas and swim jigs.
  7. If you don't have a good map be very careful if you go above Pittsburg landing. There was a big die off but some have been reported up the Pom in the McCracken Bridge area. I haven't heard of any in the Lindley but there must be some.
  8. I for one use a swivel. It is big and strong and allows me to quickly change from one A-rig to another that is setup differently. I only have one stick rigged for As.

    Sad

Maybe for you but not for me. I have ponds that need filled and newly planted grass seed in some fields.
  10. Not unless you have a canoe. Look at a map. You can take D hwy out of Bolivar and near Huron take Hwy PP. When you cross over the river at McCracken Bridge there is access for small boats there. Access for larger boats is at the Bolivar landing.
  11. I have been using it for years. I carry 3 sizes. It is the only braid I have used since I first tried it and found it to be much better than what I was using.
  12. Table Rock whites usually spawn a bit behind Bull Shoals whites. I caught females on Bull Shoals a couple of days ago that had not spawned yet.
  13. You really shouldn't get there until about 2 am.
  14. A couple of things to consider: Your charger, what type of batteries can it charge? Reserve amps or reserve capacity (the number one thing to consider in deep cycle batteries). You mentioned sealed. There are two types of deep cycles that are sealed: flooded cell and AGM. If you go with AGM then be sure your charger wil work with them. On flooded cells be sure to get at least 180 reserve minutes or you may run out of juice before the day is over.
  15. So if there is no additional rain and you shut down the dam, how much will the lake normally rise each day from water coming in from the Pom and Lindley?
  16. Bibs and coat, not coveralls. Bass Pro Shop 100 MPH gortex rain suit. Pretty warm and the driest suit I have ever worn.
  17. There is also a free ramp back in Hawker. You get to it on the first road that turns south on the west side of the mile long bridge.
  18. Umm below Swan Creek covers about 75 miles and 1000 miles of shore line.
  19. Prespawn I like soft stick baits and jerk baits with a few cranks thrown in for good luck.
  20. I assume you mean a spinning rod but you never stated as much. For baits larger than you mentioned and for a spinning reel I use 6'6" rods that are medium power with a fast tip. I have several and no 2 of them are exactly alike. So I would go to a store and ask to see rods in your price range and play around with them until you find one that you think will do the job. Then match it up with a 2500 series spinning reel in your price range.
  21. I'd like to find it 3-4' over pool when I get there in mid April if you don't mind. Thanks for the forcast.
  22. Call Pat Ayres in Highlandville. He was lead mechanic at Sport Boats for years and now has his own shop at home. He can do anything any other tech can and normally is a whole lot less.
  23. While you are at it, buy 2 so this won't happen again.
  24. 650 CCA may be all you need depending on you motor size and type.
  25. It isn't amps that you want. It is reserve amps (ra) or reserve capacity (rc). They need to be 160-200 if you are going to be able to run a trolling motor very long.
