  1. I ran a pair of them until I switched to AGMs. They are as good as any other wet cell. That sounds awfully cheap. How many reserve amps do they have?
  2. Dave I'd put some 1/32 or 1/16 oz jigs under the bobbers for the kids instead of worms.
  3. If you want crappie info, pm Panfisher. He is down that way every day, not fishing, but there and may have a lock on info.
  4. Saw 2 bigguns strutting for 14 hens today while we were moving the track loader.
  5. Rouark Bluff has 2 campgrounds and should open April 16.
  6. White bass is basically a bust. Big dieoff a couple of years ago.
  7. Nice trip Phil. Its that time of the year for that part of the lake. A couple of feet more water would help with the whites. Did you go below Springfield Cove?
  8. Don't forget bubblegum.
  9. I don't go for them but have seen them on my downscan screen every trip down that way. One day I noticed 7 different one was swimming under the boat.
  10. Bucktail jigs for me. I carry them in all sizes and several colors.
  11. Take it to Scott and Brad at Marine Repair Center. 833-9191
  12. It sounds to me like you are kind of but not really serious. Here are a few things to consider for the cost of the boat: What you actually pay, a few hundred dollars each year for regular maintainance, the cost of fuel for each trip, insurance, whether or not you have an appropriate tow vehicle, the depreciation rate of the brand you plan to buy. Give each of these a numeric value and you can come up with a yearly cost. Once you have that divide it by the number of fishing trips you will take in a year. You will then have a cost per trip and can compare that to renting a boat or even hiring a guide. If more people did that you would see a lot fewer boats setting around.
  13. Just wondering, if you didn't catch any, how do you know that they are there??? I motored all over it a week ago looking for fish and or shad and didn't see much of anything.
  14. Table Rock is a COE lake. Therefore, there is no such thing as a private ramp. They can, however, prevent you from parking above the Corps land.
  15. When I asked that same question, this was the answer I got. Pole and Line: Fishing methods using tackle normally held in the hand, such as a cane pole, casting rod, spinning rod or fly rod, or ice fishing tackle commonly known as a tip-up, to which not more than 3 hooks with bait or lures are attached. Does not include snagging, snaring, grabbing, trotlines, juglines or other tackle normally attached in a fixed position.
  16. Have you thought about hiring Marty or Bob to take you out walleye fishing?
  17. In general they lay so many eggs that the population should be sustainable. However, there is always a dieoff that comes around like the recent one at Pomme de Terre. It went from being a very productive lake to having almost none. That also happened to Bull Shoals back about 2003 and it is still in recovery. There are no where the numbers that there used to be down there. My opinion is that MDC does not pay enough attention to the conditions of white bass and take any appropriate action. I'd really like to see catch and release only until after the spawn, on waters where the populations are down until they improve, but I don't see that happening.
  18. I have only caught them above Fall Creek.
  19. MDC has alway taken rod and reels for the free days at their ponds. Contact them.
  20. Save your file to an SD card. Then you can load them to your computer by putting the card in a card reader. If you mapping program can read the HB gpx files then you are set to go. If not then use easy gps or gps babel and convert them to what the program uses.
  21. They look like wire/cable crimps to me. That is what I use.
  22. If I could only have one bait to use for smallmouth, it would be a green pumpkin tube. Some days it isn't the hottest bait you can have on but day in and day out they will hit that thing.
  23. Plastic isn't my problem with what I plan to do and when I plan to do it.
  24. Not me. That is way longer than I care to float. I'd think it would be a 3 day float if any one wet a line.
  25. I've been making them with and without weights. I'm thinking I can add weight to baits if I need to in order to put it where I want it in the water column or add weight to the front if necessary. All this is supposition as I haven't been on the water with them yet and it looks like it will be a few days before I will be.
