  1. I don't fish TR much but I have found all kinds of stuff on other area lakes. If you really want to see the kinds of things that will show up, then visit bassboatcentral and look at the hummin bird and lowrance screen shots that have been posted there. It is amazing at the quality of some of the stuff. I don't think I will ever buy a 2d sonar again.
  2. I don't know much but I did see them stocking walleye one day. The fish were about 1" long and you couldn't even identify them as walleye. I also talked to a creel guy one day and he told me that 1 out of 4 walleye that he checked were born in the lake and 3 of 4 were stockers. He never told me how he could tell though.
  3. I saw most of the ramps in the Big Sac yesterday. They are all clear and no ice was in any of the coves that I fished. Water temps are low 40s.
  4. There are a few around from time to time. I have seen them in Barry Co. and a friend saw one in Stone Co.
  5. I'm no electronics tech but it sounds like a transducer problem to me. That unit should be basically a plug and play with some minor tweeks to get a bit better performance. Have you changed upper and lower limits to see if that helps. If you can lay hands on a Lowrance transducer, take it with you and hook it up. Put it over the side and see what happens. Put it on a stick if you must but don't hook it up to the trolling motor. That will give you a starting point. If all is well that way then you have a trolling motor and or transducer problem.
  6. Which unit are you using? What type tmotor do you have? Is this the first time your tmotor interferred with your unit?
  7. Welcome aboard. Two of your neighbors are also forum members.
  8. Sometimes the whites are moving around in the upper part. I'd check the hump at snap and the channel swings on the east side. Phil caught some fish there a while back.
  9. We didn't get that in Greene Co. I talked to a guy in Stone Co this am and he said it was a bit dicey there this morning.
  10. We have caught them as early as mid December moving up the rivers; on BS below KDock, on TR below Cape Fair, haven't found many early on Pom or Stock. I don't fish NF.

    How Deep

Walleye are accidental fish for me most of the time. I did go for them on purpose yesterday. I could only find them from 45-50' deep. Is that normal this time of the year? How deep do they go in our area lakes?
  12. A little more info would be helpful, like what type of rod, what the grip material is made of, and how you want to modify it. There are lots of mods you can do.
  13. Thanks for asking. Yes I did and it lives in Houston TX now.
  14. Nice bunch. Where are Roy and Nelly?
  15. As of today it is 4.5' low. It will stay that way all winter long if we don't get much rain. They will let it get 20' above pool before they would even consider letting water out. As far as I have heard it will still be sometime around May before the project is completed.
  16. You may want to check your local store. So many people across the USA have gone back for new ones that many stores only warranty deep cycles until you get off the parking lot.
  17. What global warming? There isn't any going on outside my house.
  18. I wish you guys would hunt Stockton and Pomme de Terre. There are way too many yard carp hanging around the campgrounds on both lakes.
  19. Fin and Feather in Spfld have the blims in whatever line they carry. Once a year they have a big sale but normally it is a come on with few in stock.
  20. OK I see. Thanks. I looked them up and they are not local for me. It is over an hour drive to Golden or Joplin.
  21. What company is it that makes them locally? Is it North Star?
  22. There are lots of good batteries around. Just be sure you get somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 reserve amps and keep them well maintained. I have run many brands and haven't seen much difference in their performance. I have been running Exides for 3 years now and they still go all day long.

    Stockton 12/10

Me too for a while and no night fishing for me in the winter. I don't have the cojones for that kind of stuff. I like to hit the water and be home well before it gets dark cause these old eyes don't like to drive at night anymore.
  24. Last time for me was at MU Extension in Spfld. Cost was $11.00.

    Stockton 12/10

Last winter the 14 1/2" walleye were all over the crappie spots. It was normal to catch 8-12 of them every day along with a few keepers. This year is a different story. I can't find them at any depth. I've even been working the ledges and bluff ends.
