  1. You will find fans of both. I'm a MG fan. I run the dickens out of mine and have used it for 5-6000 hours with only a micro switch malfunction. Buy the biggest you can afford no matter which brand you get. Have you had Scott at Marine Repair look at it?
  2. You can minimize the really bad backlashes by making a long cast and stripping about 20' of line more than you cast and putting a piece of electrical tape across the spool then rewinding the line. You will still get backlashes but they won't be any deeper than the tape.
  3. BPS 100 mph is the best stuff I have ever owned. It is the only suit that I have that actually keeps me dry.
  4. Thanks Brad. I already have all of those. Where are the ones that BB is talking about?
  5. How would I contact them????
  6. I must be electronically challenged because I couldn't find any info on wpts on the MDC site. I'd really like to have a look at the link if someone can point me in the right direction.
  7. I have more baits etc than I will live long enough to use. I am looking for a place or way to donate it. I want it to be used by some deserving kids or young people. Can someone point me in the right direction?
  8. I think if you stop and consider things, it comes with the turf. Hang around a golf pro shop and see how many guys want tips instead of paying for a lesson, go to a boat dealership and see how many guys want a "how can I fix this problem", ask a school teacher how many friends and acquaintances want them to fix all their childrens problems. If you really want to be bothered with people wanting a lot for nothing, become a cop.
  9. The only time I can stay on a fishing show is when something instructional is going on. I hate shows about products and I had red necks who hoot and holler over a 13" fish and run to the end of the boat and give HIGH 5s. Pretty much I consider fishing to NOT be a spectator sport.
  10. Spfld lake isn't a bad place to bank fish. Try the other side away from the people.
  11. A couple of coats of spar varnish should keep anything working.
  12. My fish on a different pond completely disappeared when the front and blue bird sky came through. It hit them like a spring cold front.
  13. If you are concerned about K, then put in at Beaver, it is only 6 miles up.
  14. Fall to me is Oct 15 to Dec 15 any time in there would be a good thing.
  15. 418-833-9191 ask for George. He is the MK guy all the way.
  16. Pom is a fishy pond for sure. You prolly just hit it at a bad time.
  17. Hermitage, MO. Go up Hwy 65 to Hwy 54.
  18. An occasional striper shows up in the rock from time to time. A friend of mine caught a 15# striper in Flat Creek a mile or so above the confluence of the James many years ago.
  19. You guys are getting way too techincal. Even the black bass are a type of perch. Our southern neighbors have it all figured out and call all of the small ones brem.
  20. For bass you probably should learn how to fish a swim jig over the brush piles. You need to swim them down to the brush and just tick the tops as you swim them back. You will get hung up until you develop the technique so take lots of jigs with you when you go. When you get hung, break off and don't go over the brush and spook out the fish. You can also use brush hogs and craws trigged for fewer hangups.

    White Bass

I have fished Stockton a lot this year and while not targeting them in particular, I have been keeping an eye out. So far all I have seen is black bass chasing shad on top and that has been slowing way down.
  22. I used to stay at Aunts Creek Resort. It is on the water north of Kimberling City.
  23. Have you tried the site owner? Phil Lilly at Lilly's landing.
  24. Mine is really poor this year. Most of the things I have planted are slow and many have died including squash, tomatoes, egg plant, peppers, and watermelons. The corn is getting going but so are the Japanese beetles.
  25. Decide just what you need then go where they sell different brands and find out what units do what you want. I know too many guys who have gps units setting in drawers because they bought stuff that really didn't do what they needed done. I'm not sure that you will find any that do what you want with the small streams and rivers around here. I have 3 and none of them have much in any river. They all tend to stop the map for any detail at the upper end of lakes.
