Bass Pro catalog outlet has a bunch of "reconditioned" trolling motors on hand all the time. Marine Repair Center may also have some 417-833-9191 ask for Scott.
Any color will work but I like black/brown/white/chart/tan especiall the tan.
When I fish this way I will have anywhere from 4-12 feet of line out depending on the depth of the hole and the current.
I work the jig with slight shakings of the float just like fishing float and fly for bass.
Give us a post back when you are coming and we might be able to put you on some fish if you are willing to drive a few miles while wifey is taking in all of the sites and sound of BRANSON.
Sorry to hear about all of your tmotor troubles. I guess I have been very fortunate.
I have a MG that has over 7000 hours on it and all I have ever had to do was replace a worn out prop. I do check my prop and rope in the general boat inspection along with my trailer and boat motor and fix anything that needs attention. I have replaced my rope twice as I have seen some wear and carry a spare rope just incase.
That much weight would have been a world record hybrid. I have never heard of hybrids in Bull, only a few stripers. I'm glad to see you were able to release it. Last winter I got a tongue lashing on this site for suggesting that a couple of stripers should have been released.
It isn't unusual for a striper to have a bit of broken lines like the pic. Where was it caught?
Did you do the tongue test? The back of the tongue of a hybrid has one distinct tooth patch or two close patches very close together. The back of the tongue of a striped bass has two distinct parallel tooth patches.
I don't know where one can buy gasoline with no ethanol. Every station I have tried has it in all grades.
Installing a water seperating fuel filter will go a long way to keep your stuff working properly. Be sure to change it often if you fish a lot.
It looked like spring time at Stockton yesterday. There were boats everywhere. The bass were biting real good but the guys after whites and crappie seemed to be having it tough.
Any old bait at all worked but spinnerbaits were pretty good.
That kind of purchase is getting to be more and more of a consideration. I live a lot closer than you to BPS and it still costs me about $8 to go there and back so I make sure I need quite a bit of stuff before I make the trip.
NADA is typically the place to look for average prices. From there it is the condition of the boat that is the determining factor. I have never seen a person who didn't think his stuff is worth more than it actually is.
For a straight 24v all you will need is 2 wires. The ones in the boat may not be large enough. They need to be 6 or 8 g. Then you will need a jumper between the batteries to make 24v. When you get your trolling motor batteries be sure to get the largest RESERVE AMP capacity you can afford 200 reserve amps are great in a 27 series battery. 70 # thrust will be a great motor for that boat.
