  1. Maribou and bucktail are very hard to reuse if you screw up a jig. On the other hand craft hair stays together and you can take a jig apart and reuse it. Find you a piece of it and use it until you get to making jigs the way you want them to look.
  2. A few things you can do: use sinkers with the swivel in them like the Bakudan, put a ball bearing swivel in the line above the bait, use braided line and/or reel in very very slowly. All of these things will lessen drop shot line twist.
  3. Get yourself a vice, a whip, a bobbin, some jig heads and some type of material (buck tail, maribou, craft hair, etc.) and some thread. Then do a Google search and you will find plenty of pics and instructions about jig tying. If you are ever in a Bass Pro shop, Cabelas, or Back Country Outfitters in Spfld. The guys will be happy to give you tips, especially if you spend a little cash.
  4. If you want to go on farther down, West Sugar Loaf gives up some in the fall as does the point west of the marina.
  5. Just be sure you have some pocket change. My wife and I had lunch at Zoey's and dropped a 50.
  6. I sure hope we don't. I really like fall but I really hate winter. I don't do well in cold.
  7. I won't be there that day. It sounds like clear no wind days so I'll probably stay home. Good luck to you.
  8. I think it is great. I hate to sweat. I even put the hood up on my jacket at the lake yesterday.
  9. I didn't see that boat today. Were you in the Big or Little Sac?
  10. Hooked you might PM Hunter91. He seems to be able to catch quite a few walleye.
  11. Wallichaser what kind of boat are you using. I saw several in the Big Sac today but couldn't say howdy cause there were too many choices. I went to Old State Park. I did pretty good on bass today.
  12. I may go tomorrow. What part of the lake will you be going to?
  13. The ups and downs haven't made much difference to me. The fish have been in the same place for several weeks. They just move in and out depending on the sunshine and wind.
  14. Still didn't go. Don't like that electricity in the air not to mention being wet. Maybe next week sometime.
  15. If we don't have those storms again, I'll prolly get out tommorrow morning.
  16. I got the rig back in action but the storms kept me home today. If the weather brakes, I may try tomorrow. How deep were the walleye?
  17. I'm wanting to go after Sandies or Blacks but the boat is down.
  18. No local zonining and planning. That is why a few years ago they had to close a bunch of swimming areas on Beaver Lake, too much chicken poop in the water.
  19. Table Rock State Park after the holiday weekend
  20. We used to dove hunt a lot but all the farmers quit putting out grain crops and went to grass so I quit because they aren't that good to eat (unless you like the taste of liver).
  21. Yes sir. I just looked on the net and found it is up 4 1/2' since the big rains Sat. night. I hope it doesn't get too high. I want to go down there and fish in a couple of days.
  22. I saw on the news about all the rain at Hall Town, Miller, and other areas which drain into the Stockton water shed. They said the Sac Rivers were 15-25' above normal. Does anyone know what has happened to the Stockton level. Last time I looked it was 868.38.
  23. I thought you wanted to know which turkey feathers to use for arrow fletching.
  24. Don't know if it would interest you but in the Penny Power there was an opening in a fly shop advertised.
  25. I see now as a good time to fish. Last time I was there I only saw 3 boats and none of them were ride arounders. The campgrounds were nearly empty too. You gotta love it when the tourists are gone even if it is hot.
