    Culling

Since we are giving personal opinions here. I don't agree with and wish they would do away with culling in tournaments. I see no reason for some guy who forked up some coins to be given any different consideration than those of us who haven't. JMO
  2. It can be a great trip. Once in a while we have that at Stockton. I am planning to give it a shot Wednesday night.
  3. My Nitro has small lights on each side of the bow in the cap. There is no receptacle for a plug in. I'm sure you can find something that will work if you have a place to install them on each side. Like these. http://www.discountmarinesupplies.com/Side_Lights-Seachoice_05151_Flush_Mount_Side_Lights.html?gclid=CjwKEAjwlKLHBRDztKr6wMnRthMSJAALcT-s_51ktwUL4kKycePA1y3LAVVEnAm1QACBlejk8EAiqRoC9Tnw_wcB
  4. I've read it a few times. I am most interested in knowing rod length, action, power, etc instead of brand names.
  5. I have read a lot of what some of you are using. So far I am not seeing anything that I have any experience with. I am no planning to have one built but may get a better understanding of what will be good to look for. So if you were going to have a spinning rod technique specific for fishing the Ned Rig what would it be?
  6. I went back down to Stockton yesterday and fished the A rig again in the same area that has been producing for the last few weeks. I had a different fishing partner who had never caught a fish on an A rig. He had quite a time catching then. He really liked the way that they hit it compared to how they hit a small bait that he generally uses for whites. Only 3 blacks in the area would hit it this trip and none of them would keep. The white bass count was significantly down. We wore ourselves slick and only boated 60. They didn't seem particular about the baits we has on them like they had been last week. They were still out in the channels away from the bank. The over all size was down there weren't as many pot bellied females. I don't know if the weather had an effect on them or if they are moving to spawn.
  7. That has the same specs but a different price tag.
  8. Why would you want to put the extra weight in the boat when a good battery will do all of that?
  9. That is one nice white crappie for sure. Congrats.
  10. The last day of March rolled around with cool cloudy misty conditions and no rain. I know when the wind is from the north "don't go forth" but I did any way. I went back to the same area and threw the same A rig as before. This time we only caught 3 lmb but we did beat the 125 whites. We caught 126 then I called it quits. This old girl decided to eat a fluke for lunch. She couldn't have been hungry as she spit up a 10" shad right beside the boat. This is what is what she bit.
  11. I haven't really checked it with a volt meter. I'm just quoting what the Lowrance tech told me when I called them to discuss this issue.
  12. When the voltage drops below 11 my Lowrance units shut off. It used to happen all of the time with 24 series batteries. The best battery I ever had was the Sears PM-1 but I have heard it is no longer made. I don't have that issue any more as I now run a Vrod.
  13. lmb for sure.
  14. I had Karen Gibbs at Gibbs Upholstery in Republic do some seats a few years ago. She did a good job for me.
  15. They were in staging areas along creek and river channels. They were suspended in the channels anywhere from 6-12' deep. Not one female looked close to spawning and none of the males let go of any milt while we were unhooking them.
  16. I used to run a 225 Opti with 2 live aerators, 2 sonar/gps units, 2 structure scan units, external gps antenna and in the winter I had lots of problems keeping the electronics from shutting down when I'd crank the Opti. I wound up having to go to an 1150 CCA battery to keep everything working properly.
  17. The loose Curado is still available for $50.
  18. I bought several pks of TRDs and some heads from Dave and decided to try them out instead of my home made stuff. I pulled up to a bank that has been good several times and decided to give the A rig a few casts. My partner was using small grubs and he never got a bite. I started catching white bass on the A rig so he borrowed one. 125 whites and 6 blacks later I looked at Ned and thought next time out I will give you a try. I never fished a bank all day long that did not give up some fish.
  19. I've seen it a lot lower than it is now. It is only about 5' low. Not all of the ramps are useable but most are.
  20. Bottom dollar... $150 for the lot.
  21. Ok thanks Dave. That is as close as I have in a spinning set up. rps I'm don't have the skills for rod building. I can barely make jigs and plastics.
  22. Sorry to barge in here on Derrick's thread but I have a question. I have a dedicated bait casting setup for the Ned Rig but not spinning. Do you think a Gloomis GL3 SJR 700 Mag Light Ex-Fast would work out ok?
  23. Tom Stadler's shop is IMHO the best around. I had them work on my previous boat after it was side swiped by a pick up truck. They did a great job. I just had them put on a keel protector this week. You can't beat Championship Marine.
  24. Price change the combo for $125 the loose reel for $65 Pick up in Springfield area
  25. I have 2 Shimano Curado CU 200s and a 6.6 Fenwick HMG rod for sale. I am asking $70 for each piece but will let the whole lot go for a discount. This is for pick up in the Springfield area.
