  2. Still only catching on Ned. 17 smallies with 3 keepers this am. Can't find the green fish.

  4. Water was 61 and clear below Orleans Trail.
  5. I got here Tuesday pm set up camp and fished for 2 hours. I only fished Ned to see if anything would bite. I caught 6 with 3 keeper lmb. The courtesy docks are pulled and the COE said they have no immediate plans to put them back in. Today I am sitting out the cold 30 mph winds.
  6. Nope but I am going tomorrow to Crabtree Cove.
  7. I believe there is consideration to what is happening downstream as far as draw down goes. I personally wouldn't mind it being in the bushes this summer. More fish will hang out there instead of heading deep.
  8. Pomme is already 7' over power pool. Stockton is just now back to power pool.
  9. I don't buy any outdoor foot wear that is not gortex. I have several brands of "running shoes" and all of them are gortex.
  10. OK I see. I thought maybe you would just fish the wind and swim them like you would a swim jig.
  11. Not sure what he has left Danny has been there twice loading up and I got all of what I wanted but he had a bunch left.
  12. I was having a good time today catching quite a few bass on the Ned. Things got tough when the wind came up. I had managed 42 bass with 2 keeper spots, 2 keeper greenies, and 1 keeper brownie. The best colors were mud bug and molting craw. Most all of the fish were on pea gravel banks. It doesn't look like the spots or brown fish have spawned in the lower lake. So what do you do when the wind gets to rocking? Do you leave then Ned or head for calm waters?
  13. He doesn't fish often enough to keep the fish from getting hooked deep. I have the hemos and will put them in the boat for him to try. Thanks rps.
  14. I took my s-I-l and Old Ned fishing last night. We used the deal, blue/black, pb&j, june bug, California craw, and bubble gum. We wound up catching 45 bass all on the Ned. We got into spots on the first stop having several just sublegal. A little later we hit the brown fish. Those rascals were every where. We had close to 30 of just them. Green fish were very scattered with one coming now and then. On back to back casts I caught good sized female white bass on the deal so we switched to hair jigs and caught 41 of them. Then went back to the Ned. I am a newbie on these itty bitty hooks with brown fish. Several of them were bellied up like they hadn't spawned yet. I thought they spawned in upper 50s water. Lots of them were hooked very deep. I have no problem going through the gills and getting the hook out without damaging the fish but s-I-l has fat fingers and has lots of trouble with that approach. So those in the know, what do you do when fishing the slack line method to keep fish from getting hooked deep? ,
  15. George has a bunch of stuff but not as much as he had before I went there today. His prices are good and most of the stuff is new.
  16. There are always bass in Hawker. I hit a couple of banks there last Wednesday and caught 5 quick bass on my way to night fish for whites and walleye.
  17. I'm using Dave's jig heads but I bought some of all colors of TRDs so I'll be using them for a while till I find out the best colors.
  18. I finally broke down and bought some of the Ned heads with itty bitty hooks. On my home made stuff I use a 3/0 so this was quite a change. Last night my s-I-l and I went to Stockton to night fish for white bass. We got there before dark and decided to do some bass fishing before the white bite got going. He was using a swing jig with a paca craw and I put on the Ned. I used both my home made baits and the TRD with the new small hooks. I will have to say that I got a lot more bites with the small jig than with my larger hook but I kept losing the fish on the way back to the boat. I got my s-I-l to switch to the Ned so be able to compare. He had the same trouble. So my question is: How do you keep the fish from coming unbuttoned with the Ned or is this an inherent item?
  19. You said you had a 9 then you say 8; Which is it? Which Gen I II III? That makes a difference in how you can set things up. Like Sore Thumbs said you have to get an hds in order to network wpts. In my opinion that is the most critical thing you can do if you mark any spots then fish them later. If you can fit it into your budget a Point 1 antenna and an NMEA 2000 network are great additions.
  20. Since you already have a Low. You can save some serious coin by sticking with that brand. You did not state what the 9 and 5 are. Are they hds gen 2 or 3? What is the 5 that doesn't have gps? I use side scan both in the front and back. I like it both places. I fish with down and 2 d sonar depending on if I am casting or vertical fishing. If I had to give up something it would be side scan. I know a lot of guys want the large screen at the wheel but I only spend minutes there and hours at the bow so I have my largest screen at the bow.
  21. I have some 5:1 reels but they only get used for A rigs. My crank bait reels are 8.2:1. I would rather slow down than have to speed up.

    Culling

Since we are giving personal opinions here. I don't agree with and wish they would do away with culling in tournaments. I see no reason for some guy who forked up some coins to be given any different consideration than those of us who haven't. JMO
  23. It can be a great trip. Once in a while we have that at Stockton. I am planning to give it a shot Wednesday night.
  24. My Nitro has small lights on each side of the bow in the cap. There is no receptacle for a plug in. I'm sure you can find something that will work if you have a place to install them on each side. Like these. http://www.discountmarinesupplies.com/Side_Lights-Seachoice_05151_Flush_Mount_Side_Lights.html?gclid=CjwKEAjwlKLHBRDztKr6wMnRthMSJAALcT-s_51ktwUL4kKycePA1y3LAVVEnAm1QACBlejk8EAiqRoC9Tnw_wcB
  25. I've read it a few times. I am most interested in knowing rod length, action, power, etc instead of brand names.
