  1. With the hit and miss snow and rain does anyone know what it is like down there? Did rain wash a bunch of gunk into the lake? Is the water clear or muddy? Is there snow on the ground? Are the ramps at K Dock, Beaver Creek and River Run accessible? What is the water temp?
  2. I'm using a 6.5' Fenwick HMG and it is working for me but I limit my heads to 3 1/4 oz jigs.
  3. I saw a truck done with a spray liner that looked like it had sand mixed in. I don't think it would be slick. I believe it was done someplace around Rogersville but I'm not sure.
  4. There really is very much to it. If using it on a fly rod then you need those little foam "strike indicators" (bobbers). You need larger ones, maybe even weighted, for spinning tackle. I use a 1 or 2 # leader when I fish this way for trout. Depending on the water depth, you need anywhere from a 5-12' leader. 1/80 or 1/100 th ounce jigs work best for me. I cast out and let the bait settle. With a fly rod I knit and pearl watching the float at all times. If it goes down I set the hook. With spinning gear a very very very slow retrieve watching the float.
  5. I have gotten 2 different mailers but can't find much that I want to drive all the way to Spfld to get.
  6. In another topic Bill B said Buster Loving was catching a few somewhere down around K Dock on a jerk bait.
  7. I've never tried that. I use totally awesome from Dollar General and a tooth brush.
  8. Jason will have a lot of good tips on Lowrance units as they are one of his sponsors.
  9. Here are some of the hair jigs. Here is the craft hair I use for FnF jigs. Here is a sample of an FnF jig.
  10. I pour the heads myself then powder paint them. I swim them or hop them off the bottom. I use craft hair for the jigs under the bobber, FnF.
  11. A pic of your mounting and some screen shots would help a lot.

  13. You better get ready for storing the extras. I started out making one color of one size of bucktails. Now I have 5 or 6 sizes in about 20 color combinations with over 500 of them tied up.
  14. I think your 8 mph info is not good info. I use down imaging all the time on my trolling motor. Sitting still you won't have the same images as moving just like on 2d sonar. I don't want to start a Ford/Chevy discussion so I recommend that you look at some at BPS in Springfield or Council Bluffs and talk to the guys at the electronics counter.
  15. Yep. That is where I have had a couple made. Del and his crew do a nice job.
  16. I saw boat trailers at river run and Beaver Creek. If you plan to fish around the dam area then put in at River Run because if is probably 5-6 miles on down the river to Beaver Creek.
  17. Maybe this will help with the confusion. http://mdc.mo.gov/blogs/fresh-afield/limiting-confusion
  18. Phil you can do the same with the skin and smoke them. They come out real nice and compare with smoked walleye.
  19. I for sure am no biologist but I have always been told that the lighter the color of a fish is related to how dormant it is, while actively feeding fish have lots of color because of hormone increases. I have no way to prove or disprove this.
  20. I don't remember where it came from. I couldn't find any locally so I bought a gallon off the internet about a year ago. I think it will last at least 10 years as little as it takes to cover the boat when I reapply it. Do you need some?
  21. I put 3 coats on to start with and only reapply maybe 3 or 4 times per year. I just wipe with a wet cloth and dry with an old towel. I wait till I am home to do that.
  22. You might want to check and see how much snow falls overnight.
  23. Sardis
  24. You might want to hire Bob Bennett for a day or 1/2 day trip. He is a guide on Stockton and a contributor to this forum. He could possibly make your maiden trip very good and put you on to where and how to do it. http://fishstocktonlake.com/
  25. They have been caught in Table Rock from time to time, but not often. One of the Fletchers caught on that was like 60# just a few years ago. A friend of mine caught one in Flat Creek many years ago.
