  1. Good day there guys. That area sounds somewhat like where we found them at the Rock. Jeb they wouldn’t hit the spoon when Jeff and I were out.
  2. Some good looking fish there. Is the lake colored or is it just the way the light is hitting?
  3. I too thought he might be running some. It doesn’t matter now because I have an appointment with Marine Repair to move some stuff around and install and wire the 100 ah lithium to my 3 Solix units.
  4. I only weighed 1 and it was a full pound lighter than the one I weighed with Jeff. There are no dinks in this group.
  5. I got to go back yesterday for a couple of mid day hours. They were still liking Ned but they also wanted a pumpkin seed tube. I had 18 before the wind started howling.
  6. Thanks for the report, however, I don’t think I have a couple of months. My house battery setup is dying.
  7. Depends on water clarity but in general green pumpkin, Alabama Craw, California craw and Yoga pants are my favorites.
  8. P B and J is my least favorite of the 22 colors that I have.

    Super Bowl

Yep there is no “what was that”, pause and rewind in person. Besides tickets are 8 grand and up. I could buy 2 new Humminbirds for that.
  10. Who’s running them?
  11. Jeff met me this morning at 07:45 at the Cape Fair ramp. It was 31° and foggy. The water in the cove was 35°. It was 39-41 on the main lake. The water is dingy to dirty. Below Wolly Creek before you get to Carney Branch the lake was covered with ice. I didn’t see any sign of any other boat having gone through so we made a path. We fished several different ways, the places that produced and had a 4 1/2 hour skunk. Going for broke we hit something totally different and it worked. In the last hour and a half we caught smb, lmb and spots. All came on Ned in 27-53’. We wound up with 35 at least 20 of which were keepers. The fish of the day was a 3 1/3# spot. We had several others very close to it. This is the best January day that I can remember.
  12. The ones at State Park are a lot newer than those at Orleans Trail.
  13. There are some cabins just outside the town of Stockton.
  14. It appears that I need to be more observant. I may be seeing them and not realizing it.
  15. I’ve spent all my life in SWMO much of it out of doors. I don’t remember ever seeing one before. I had some meat trimmings that I put outside a while ago. A red shouldered hawk flew down and has spent the last 20 minutes eating it. I had to look it up to identify it. Are they common where you live?
  16. That is the exact information I got when I contacted them about stocking some of our ponds, they do it public, we do it private.
  17. If I were planning what you referenced I’d be asking that question of a fisheries biologist instead of on here.
  18. It is so small that I never hear or feel it passing through the guides. I used to put a bit of Sally Hansen’s on the half hitches until I started using a Rizzuto finish. I am not aware of any other application of it.
  19. My wife’s Jeep goes berserk when a tire is 2# low and starts giving warnings. It did that before we headed to Fl week before last. My garage doesn’t ever get below 54° so I don’t pay much attention to the trailer tires. It’s getting ready to warm up so I decided to check them. They call for 65# cold and were only in the mid 50s so I aired them up. Have you checked yours lately?
  20. I can understand why. It’s nearly a death wish to try bank fishing on the North side unless young and stone cold sober.
  21. I like the leader to be a couple of feet longer than the rod.
  22. I’ve found it to work well with several different spinning rods. I’m using 15# Power Pro braid with 10-12# Seaguar red label fluorocarbon line. I use the line instead of the special leader material.
  23. I’ve had 5 hand surgeries and am waiting on #6. I really like it but it took me quite a while to tie. So I decided to get the FG knot tool. The tool helped but I kept dropping the leader tag end and I had trouble serving the knot so I made a couple of gizmos to take care of those issues. No it just takes a few minutes to tie it.
  24. I’ve used braid to leader off and on for a long time. I’ve used Albright, Alberto, and uni to uni just to name a few. Every single one of them has been prone to break at the knot no matter what size leader that I am using. The only exception to that is the FG. I’ve been using it for several months. So far when I have to break off it has been at the bait. Do any of you guys use the FG?
  25. When I put wood in the stove at 02:20 we were already covered. I’m staying in and burning wood today.
