MDC still has the opinion that MO fishermen aren't smart enough to tell one species from another. That is why we have a 4 over 18" limit on stripers, whites, and hybrids.
My opinion is if you are going to keep it, know what it is or be prepared to suffer the consequences.
There are 3 marinas and numerous launch ramps. You prolly should go by the COE office and get a map of the lake and the launch sites. I tend to use them all depending on time of year and wind speed and direction.
Shipping could get a little tricky with the rods and waders being so different. You live a long ways from me and I can't do Paypal. Would you be willing to meet some place on I44?
I have 2 4'9" HMG rods that have never been fished. They sell for $99.95 each. I'll take $100 for the two and throw in a pair of size 9 chest waders. They are just too light weight for my needs and I bought them from Fenwick sight unseen. I think they would be excellent crappie rods or even creek and river rods.
I might be able to return them but don't want the hassel right now in my life. So anyone interested?
If you buy a Wally world battery you better check about the warranty first. In lots of stores around the country they have no warranty anymore.
That being said get 200 reserve amp batteries keep them charged up and keep the plates covered with distilled water and they will last for a good many years. I normally give mine away when they are 4 years old and buy new ones and they are still going strong.
Hey man you can take your design and your jig to any machine shop along with a do-it blank mold and they can make anything you want. But be sure your wallet is full. The last time I tried it they wanted $500 for tooling the mold and I passed on that one and made my own.
I rarely buy any baits. I make most everything that I use: spoons, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, craft hair jigs, rubber jigs, bucktail jigs, stick baits, bass tubes, slab busters, swim jig trailers, and on and one.
Phil, I was in no way taking a shot at you. I was just stating my opinion about pre spawn fish and know a lot of people would read your thread and my statement would have greater exposure here. I'm also opposed to people bed fishing for blacks.
Bill that is also my passion. I fish a lot for them on several different lakes and Yeah well that is what they thought about Bull Shoals until 2002. I still say put the spawning females back.
To give you an example in March 2001 I caught 2800 whites bass on upper Bull Shoals. In march of 2002 I caught 500 and in March 2003 I caught 100. Then I quit going down there unitl last year when I had 3 weeks of good fish and then dinks. I haven't been this year.
I have them all and I do them all. I can't tell much difference especially with the new bands that don't rot like they used to and are twice or three times as fast to make.
