Current River - Boy Scouts - 50-Mile Float - Route and Attractions

It is really low at Baptist until you hit Ashley creek. Ice at Akers, Pultite and Round spring. Water at Cedar Grove, Akers, Pultite and roundspring. Have fun we saw a boy scout group from Texas when we floated Tuesday.- 1 reply

A lot of the tickets written for violations are to folks who are in technical violation but should be given a warning.( Not this idiot) I do ride alongs with one of our mdc agents and have seen some pretty weak tickets. Trout from Montauk in your cooler at Baptist or Parker, thats tickets for over limit and under sized. I have a buddy that goes to Montauk couple times a week and like to filet his trout there. Only a matter of time before he gets cited for illegal transportation.

Only flies and artificial lures may be used, and soft plastic baits and natural and scented baits are prohibited when fishing for any species. You can use treble hooks if you want they are not prohibited in blue ribbon section. -
This just in from the Park Service. RIVER CLOSED The Current River is CLOSED from Pulltite to Gooseneck and the Jacks Fork is CLOSED from Buck Hollow to Two Rivers. The Current above Pulltite and the Jacks Fork above Buck Hollow currently remain OPEN.

I have been on ride alongs with MDC and have seen tickets handed out for too many fish. People floating Cedar Grove to Akers on an over night. One guy had 6 trout 4 in cooler 2 on stringer. Another guy had 8 in his cooler. They told the agent it was two day float. He said how would he know that. Cited The rule can only have daily limit while on the water. Sign here. Have a nice day. -

They had to move the road because the old one was undermined. Not trying to increase traffic just trying to accommodate the traffic they have now. No plans to improve the "worthless" H.A.
