I've never used the Banjo minnow actually, but what the inventor said intrigued me. But I will say, I like the idea of their nose hooking method. It will track truer. I suppose it's like towing a boat, you tie on the nose ring and it tracks true. But if you towed it with the rope tied to the front seat pedestal, it would dart from one side to the other, almost identical to a tube bait. I actually went thru a stage where I nose hooked Super Flukes, but scrapped that idea after I got hung up so many times. I'm curious if the little rubber band dealie on the Banjo helped it be more weedless or not?

On a different forum, I posted a statement that I heard from the guy who invented the Banjo Minnow. The Statement "Fast lures catch active fish, slow lures catch big fish" seems to be true for me personally. I recount the days when in the last few years when my friends and I have caught the biggest fish, and with a few exceptions (Al, with his WTD baits) the largest fish have come with a slow moving jig. What are your experiences?

Gotta remember, he was in WW2 and his brother Mitch, my names sake, was at Omaha Beach. They had zero tolerance for that stuff. The treatment of vets is a completely different problem...and its quite a big one.

Well, I guess my attitudes were formed by my late father. He was THE most mild mannered guy you've ever seen. Like "Mr Rogers Neighborhood" kind of mild mannered. But he always went way out of character when he saw "Dang long-haired hippies!, they're all draft dodgers!" The backwards hat wasn't his favorite either.

Imagine the dilemma.....you're cool, but no one knows it! Problem solved!

It's possible to keep the sun out of your eyes if you wear the hat the way it was intended...but granted, it doesnt look as cool.

I remember well Al! Huge fish! I caught a pretty nice one on the exact same lure and color a couple of years ago. But it wasn't as big as yours.

The walk the dog action seems to be irresistible to fish, even if they've been caught before. There are very few applications where I think braid would be much better than mono......IMO, walking the dawg would be one of those times. Especially in very clear water where long casts are imperative. Not only will the hook up percentage increase, but the action will be much snappier!
