I’m torn between trying to encourage kids to get into fishing, and encouraging kids to be a professional bass fisherman. I’m all for wanting children to get started enjoying the outdoors and getting away from their iPads to enjoy all aspects of nature and fishing, but think encouraging a kid to be a bass pro is not a good career choice. It’s one of those “follow your dream” bad ideas. The things your future family would need to put up with! 😟
My friend told me it was the most brutal recovery he ever faced. He was screaming with pain when the Physical “Terrorist” (as he called him) was trying to whip him back into shape. I feel for both you and Mary...hang in there
I was reluctant to gloat because I remember so vividly when the Tigers swept the series before they played the cardinals....what, like 10 years ago or more? My buddy from Detroit told me that the Cardinals wouldn’t stand a chance. I’m sure you remember what happened.
One story I remember Al Agnew telling was of an old river guy that Al used to fish with. He said they would pull up to a rock dike and put out the rods. If they didn’t get a bite in less than 5 minutes, they would pick up and go elsewhere. That shows the ability of a catfish to smell and track down their prey.
The bass were an afterthought, I caught a couple that day and brought them home with virtually no time to prepare them. However, the Chinese always keep the bones in the fish. These bass were scaled and chopped up and rinsed only. The dad dunked the bass parts in the spicy side and let them boil for 10 minutes or so. He commented that he wants me to go catch more because they were so good. I never eat the bass when they cook them.
Well, we are about to have a Chinese Hot Pot...consisting of seafood, (including a couple of spotted bass...heads and all, who are about to take a spice bath), beef, lamb, veggies. There is quite a bit of noise that goes with this meal! 😂. Which includes Chinese talk and lips smacking.
