    I went back to work in the old building at McDonnell Douglas where I used to work which is now GKN. A old guy I used to work with 30 years ago is still there. He’s 82 and still working. I asked him why he doesn’t retire. His answer was “Have you ever seen an 80 year old woman naked??”

    Great catching, but I’m a little scared of the amount of keepers vs the total fish caught, and the biggest being 3 pounds. Maybe it’s either a Ned rig thang or Randy Blaukat was right.

    They are extremely tough little guys. When I laser scanned this little guy it took quite a while to kill him before I could scan it.

    Those Shark tails weren’t made to float, but you could do a light finesse hook set up maybe. They seem to excel around the spawn. They work great on a shaky head or a drop shot. Guys have been cutting the bigger ones in half and say they are a great spinnerbait or chatterbait trailer. Also if you’ve ever done a Donkey rig (double fluke rig) they look amazing. The tail movement is key to this bait. One of the LOZ guides wants me to do a Tequila Sunrise or Morning dawn color for it. It would incorporate your pink as well as some purple.

    The shark tail worms were an interesting combination of a couple of things that triggered the aha moment. But the action was tremendous on the first go round, and we just went with it. As far as scent goes… I would recommend any gel-based scent if you are so inclined. Thanks for your support!

    Up compared to when? I spoke with Bo over the years before he passed about this very subject. He seemed to believe the big ones could mostly be caught at night, which is why he always fished at night. You would think someone would weigh in a 6 pounder in a tournament down there but it ain’t happening anymore…so sad

    The proof is in the pudding…when’s the last time an over 6 pound smallmouth has been caught at TR? 2 fish that size have been caught on the Meramec and the Gasconade in the last 2 years. obviously reservoirs should have more potential for bigger smallmouth. 6 pound smallmouth used to be pretty common place at TR.
