  7. Carp one of the many tasty critters to eat that aren't on the main stream menu. Pretty sure I'll never go hungry
  8. I use 6 to 8 oz bank sinkers on the terminal end and lead with a 8/0 or 10/0 treble all on a 50lb leader to a swivel and 65 lb power braid main line. Add a 12 foot ugly stick and a 950ss penn reel, them spoonies dont have much of a chance Fly fishin though, I just follow ducky's lead.
  9. what fun. My first turkey with a bow was a double bearded hen while archery hunting for deer at a conservation area. I have missed more with a bow than I care to admit I have even lost a couple, it's pretty tough to track a turkey that flies away and disheartening to se your arrow sticking out of it. I have harvested 5 total with a bow now when I shoot at one it's initial success or total failuree, meaning I only aim for a head shot now When I miss a get to play again and when I hit it's a woohoo turkey dinner for that nite Shoot straight and Good luck
  10. Logs, man it's tough snagging between them logs.
  11. Rather than start a new thread for each snagging spot up here I'm just gonna update this one. Hit howell is last evening after work. The rivers up and full of debris. snagged for 2 hours had 3 people tell me I couldn't do it another 3 interested enough to ask how caught 46 logs, 8 big head (2 nice ones), 1-35 inch spoonbill and lost 2 rigs.
  12. I certainly have to try the shrooms on the grill. Neat trick can't wait, just have to find some more.
  13. Very nice had a haul like that on the james 2 years ago
  14. Ticks are not nice, found a few white morels, left them to get bigger anf bounced a turkey off the windshield of the truck. Dont think I killed her couldn't find her so I dont really know
  15. Warm and breezy, dad the dogs and i started at a small walk in pond in an area I plan to turkey hunt. We had spinning gear and small crankbaits, miss ed a couple of hits between the dogs swimming about dad landed a nice lg mouth just as dandy and dakota swam across the lake again towards him. We move to a new spot and found a few grey morels. They were dry a bug bitten. Changing locations again after a shortish kind of walk brought us to a creek that is usually a good spot for shrooms and of course creek fishin. No shrooms and a couple of bass later convinced us to just practice dock dogs with the dogs. On the end it was a great day, we had managed to catch four limits of ticks

  21. I eat the asian carp. Theyre mighty tasty when the waters cold and when theyre big enough to filet. as far as whites eatin em, dont know. Would have to speculate they do. Thats only based on the fact I ve used the asian carp as cut bait with as good as results as shad
  22. I have caught these at three locations, chain of rocks, alton dam and cuivre river. We'll get a few while trying to catch white bass. I was at the cuivre last thursday and had no luck with either.
