They wanted a fast boat and the biggest outboard back then was a 140hp or so. I/O are real inefficient, you lose 15% power every time it turns, and it turns twice with an I/O
One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Fishing unfortunately isn't amazing. If there is some water flow I can take you up from the bottom side via boat, or you can do one of the many floats in a canoe/kayak.
i am selling the motor. its a 2001-ish mercury 25hp jet. electric start(I need to buy a starter for it). I got fresh gas to it and put it on my other boat so I could run the motor in the pond and it runs great. Starts first pull. I was gonna list it for $1750 but I would sell it for $1500 to someone from here.
I am glad we were able to hold down the tradition this year, hopefully we can get more people down for next years. I had a great time and honestly hardly took any photos. I found out the new boat has no issues hauling 5 guys upriver.
One thing to consider is the weather this time of year is the weather is unpredictable at best so be prepared no matter where you go to get to high ground. Good luck, for sure want to see a report.
