Beaver just passed flood pool. Looks like they really increased the outflow. It had been steady at 920 in the tailwaters and it is now 936.
-
That's not today.
-
I'm no weather forecaster, but when I look at the radar and see what is southwest of Table Rock and Beaver, it looks like it might be a long night.
-
Their forecasts were way off. They say TableRock will be at 920.5 by tomorrow. It is already at 922.55 and rising over 6 inches per hour. They say Beaver will be 1128.1 by Tuesday. It is already at 1128.6 and rising about 2.5 inches per hour. They do say that their forecasts are subject to change.

If I'm reading the reports right from the COE, Table Rock has come up 1 foot in the last 2 hours.

I've heard of an underspin, but in the picture it looks like a Busch beer can!

James River predicted to get 40 feet over flood stage

Better call Noah and get him busy building an Ark. -
Does anyone know if the Brown Bend access is useable or is the water still too low?

I like to maintain contact with the bottom. With a big side wind and bow in your line, the lure is probably moving horizontally instead of vertically. If I can't avoid the side wind, I would probably go to a 3/4 ounce carolina rig.
-
With the wind they were predicting for today, and for tomorrow, I would go to places that are sheltered and up size to the 1/8th ounce and throw it straight into the wind.

Put in at Long Shoal at 2:00 pm and headed toward the Big Tebo. Water temps were 65 to 66. Went to a pretty good sized cove and started throwing a 1/16th ounce white grub. Caught a 18 1/2 inch largemouth. I was looking for crappie but wasn't finding any so I thought I would head to the Osage arm and see if I could find some more stained water. Hit one of those deep cuts off of the bluff bank across from Shawnee Bend. About halfway back I started catching crappie not far off of the bank. Like yesterday, they were all 9 1/2 to 11 inch crappie. Two females and 13 males. Watched the A-10 Warthogs put on a fireworks show with the flairs they were releasing.

Put in at Long Shoal at around 9:00. Water temps all day were 63 to 64. Didnt venture far from Long Shoal. Mayber 3 miles either direction. I caught a LOT of small crappie pretty shallow. Did catch 19 keepers that were all 9 1/2 to 10 1/2 inches. 2 out of the 15 I kept were females. Also caught 2 white bass and two 16 inch walleye. Most everything came on a 1/16th ounce white grub. You would catch black crappie at the backs of the coves and white crappie more toward the main lake.

Maybe more appropriate would be Post Toddler Snipped by Duck!

Don't trust ducks. I was viciously bitten by a rabid, man eating duck on my 4th birthday. We were feeding the ducks bread when I was bitten on the finger. Quite a traumatic experience for a 4 year old.

I prefer green pumpkin over any other color. And a ZinkerZ cut in half is more buoyant than a TRD.

Put in at Long Shoals at 11:30 am and headed toward the Big Tebo. Started with a green craw wiggle wart and caught 1 white bass on a pea gravel main lake bank. Switched to a spinnerbait and caught 2 more white bass. Not what I was looking for so I went to a big cove and started at the mouth and headed toward the back fishing the wart. Tried 3 different colors of warts. No takers. About halfway back I switched to a ned in green pumpkin orange and started catching some largemouth. All of them were in 2 to 8 feet of water. Ended up with 45 total fish. 1 hybrid, 3 crappie, 5 white bass, 1 perch and 35 largemouth bass. Only 3 of the bass were keeper length. The hybrid ate a 1/16th ounce white grub. I was looking for crappie and caught that one on a 5 1/2 foot light action rod with 4 lb test. It was peeling some line. Water temps were 59 to start and at the end of the day I found 63.5 degree water. Not many boats out. I was the last truck in the parking lot when I took out and the sun was still up. PS: It was the hat.

I second Dave's motion for the ZinkerZ over the TRD.

If I take some aluminum foil and wrap it around my Skeeter, would I qualify?

Thanks for the report. It had to be the hat! EMAW!

I read thru the thread about spending wisely and efficiently regarding Wiggle Warts or Rock Crawlers. Thanks abkeenan for posting that video about the guy that has the collection. He explains how to tell the difference between the pre and post Rapala Wiggle Warts. I am not much of a crank bait fisherman but I do have some Wiggle Warts. That video got me to thinking "I wonder if I have some pre-Rapala Wiggle Warts?". I only have maybe a total of 15 or 17 Wiggle Warts, but low and behold, I am pretty sure 10 of them are pre-Rapala because they have Wiggle Wart Stamped on the lip. Here's my collection. I had no clue.

If it was a female, then it was spawned out. I just figured it was male. I didn't inspect it that close because I didn't want to invade it's personal space!

Insurance companies are in the business to not pay claims.

That walleye is still swimming. I let it go.

Put in at Orleans Trail and was shocked by the damage done by the storm to the marina. Got on the water around 7:30. Water temps everywhere we went were 49 to 50 degrees. We fished from just south of Hawker to Orleans Trail. Pretty slow day. Ended up with 18 fish. 3 keeper bass, a 17 inch, and two 15 1/2 inchers. Also caught a 20 inch walleye. Most of the damage was done on a Megabass 110 in KBG and Triple Illusion. Caught a few on the ned, and one on a rock crawler. Got off the water right after the front moved through which was around 2:30.

I was on the lake around Hawker to Orleans Trail. Not a drop. Saw some lightning to the west but that was the extent of it.
