  1. Anybody been on the water lately that can report water temps in the mid-lake area?
  2. It has to be a mistake. I was there yesterday and the lake level is a little high, not low.
  3. I'm sorry but I think the water patrol and sheriff are doing the best they can for a lake the size of Table Rock with all of the docks. It would take an army of deputies to be able to catch these thieves.
  4. Natures Image Taxidermy on Kearney Street in Springfield. I believe it is owned by Kevin Bowlin. He did a smallmouth for me in 2002. Very good looking mount.
  5. What are the temperatures running on the main lake?
  6. Fished around the 60 mm. Water temps were 62 to 64. Fishing was tough for us. 2 people in the boat and we only managed 10 keepers. 9 of those were females. All over 10 inches. Not sure where the m as les are. We tried shallow, but no luck. The females were hanging off the bank in 4 to 8 foot of water. They are spread out, not bunched up. Caught them on a 1/16th ounce jig with a white grub, or a white and chartreuse grub. If you're set up to do spider rigging I think you could have done well in 15 feet of water in the coves. Seemed like I marked a lot of fish in that depth.
  7. Oh, the trailer was purchased new in 2009.
  8. I'm having troubles with my driver side trailer tire. It is a single axle trailer and the outside edge of the tire is down to the cords. This is the second tire I've put on there. The first time I thought it was because the tire was not balanced. But the new one I put on was, and now it is showing the same kind of wear only after a few thousand miles. Any ideas what is wrong? Thanks
  9. I would say it depends on how much rain you get and if it muddies up the water. Personally, my experience has been that the 3rd day after a cold front is the toughest.
  10. Put in at Brown Bend and headed down the lake to the first big creek arm to the south. Pulled up on a fairly steep bank and started catching crappie. They were not on the banks and only a couple of males I caught were starting to turn black. Water temp was 59 to 61.5. We started about 9:00 a.m. and had our limit (30 fish with two of us fishing) by 2:30 p.m. They were spread out and not bunched up. Caught them on a 1/16th ounce jig head with a chartreuse and white grub body. Would just cast it to the bank and then slowly reel it back in. They were not back in the coves. Seemed like you needed fairly deep water (10 feet or more) to get the bigger ones. We didn't keep anything under 10 1/2. They were probably half females, and half males. The biggest went 15 1/4. Several 13 1/2 inchers.
  11. Good job. You guys that got out Saturday and Sunday are tougher than me. That had to be brutal.
  12. Ok. Now I'm really confused. I guess my question is, when was the date change between the "old wart" and the "new wart". I have a friend who bought a bunch of warts back in the mid 80's. Would these be old, or new?.
  13. Does anybody know what year Rapala stopped making the wart, and Storm started?
  14. Put in at Orleans Trail around noon. Water temps were around 50 to 51 degrees. Water is very clear. 6 to 8 foot visibility. Only caught 3 around that area so I decided to run up to Sons Creek and check it out. Water had more color to my liking. Water temps up there were 57 to 60. Seemed like points held the most fish. Nothing big, but a lot of fun. The biggest would have gone around 3 1/2. Ended up with 45. Had 5 keepers, so the quality wasn't as good as some others posting on this forum. Still a great day. I was able to take a friend who is getting up there in age and doesn't get to go much anymore. Caught them on a red craw wiggle wart, green pumpkin jig with a green pumpkin craw, and a chartreuse and white spinner bait. most of them came on the jig & craw. Oh, and the pelicans are still hanging out up on the main lake up close to the dam. They haven't headed north yet.
  15. There have been a lot of pelicans on Stockton the last 2 weeks. Anybody know where they migrate to? Canada or the Great Lakes?
  16. The last two weeks there have been a lot of white pelicans on Stockton. A week ago I was fishing in Orleans Trail and there was a loon fairly close to my boat. When it would surface, 3 pelicans would come swooping in looking to steal his fish.
  17. Fished between Orleans Trail and State Park marina. Fished primarily two baits, the wart and a lionhead jig in green pumpkin and a green pumpkin craw trailer. Water temps were 47 to 49 degrees everywhere we went. Water seemed to be clearer than last weekend. Ended up with 17 bass and 6 of those were keepers. The picture is a 19 1/2 incher caught on a red craw wiggle wart in Hawker. Couldn't find any particular pattern regarding the type of bank. Sounds like the bite up the rivers was a lot better than down by the dam. It was the complete opposite last weekend.
  18. 48 degrees everywhere I went today from Orleans Trail to State Park.
  19. 44 to 46
  20. Put in at Orleans Trail and went as far as State Park Marina cove. Primarily fished a brown crawdad wiggle wart but did catch one on a Megabass 110 and 4 on a green pumpkin lionhead jig with a green pumpkin craw trailer. Caught a total of 21. 6 were keepers and 2 of the 6 went 4 lbs each. Halfway back in the larger creek coves seemed to produce the best. 30 degree banks with chunk rock were also the best. Water was 44 to 46 degrees.
  21. I saw you catch it. That's a nice fish. I was in the white and red Skeeter on the other side of the cove. I caught a 4 lber right after I saw you catch yours. That cove has always been good for me.
  22. Did you get much rain the last couple of days? I was considering putting in at Brown Bend but was concerned that it might have gotten muddy today.
  23. Wow. At this rate the bass and crappie will be spawning in June!
  24. Anybody been on the water and can report some water temps?
  25. I'm no walleye expert but I believe they spawn between 42 and 45 degrees. The moon phase plays a role also.
