Here is my opinion... for what it's worth...

1) I'm with RPS... following a guide boat around is like STEALING... plain and simple. If you want to know how and where a guide catches them, then why don't you just be a man and hire them. I own a business, and I wouldn't want someone following me around-- stealing my sales leads, and swooping in and STEALING my potential customers... it is essentially the same thing following a guide around.

2) Anybody with any PRIDE at all would understand this... I would rather find and catch 5 fish on my own merits than catch 50 fish that somebody else found for me and told me just what to catch them on. Don't get me wrong... it is great and noble to hire a guide of you are inexperienced and/or unfamiliar with the lake or current patterns-- but someone following someone around to try to STEAL their honey-holes is rediculous and selfish. It is okay to use a few tips and words of wisdom given to you by someone to give you a better chance to catch them, but... FIND YOUR OWN FISH!!!!!

The bottom line is that I am in full support of a guide's privacy while he is doing business. My message to these followers is... leave the guides alone and try to succeed on your own merit, for once in your life.

"A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)

Maybe someone should offer a map marketing service for $300 for 30 spots, then you wouldn't even have to fish the lake.:lol::lol::lol:

Wow, well here we go.... I will try not to get out of hand but here is my point of view on this matter.. I do not make a 6 figure income, heck not even close. I DO NOT have money in my family, I work very hard everyday at what I do, I put in my time and then even more time after that, my day's off are fishing looking for new spots for my clients and you know what I would not trade it for the world. I get to fish for a living, How many can say that??

What spots I find and use on a daily basis is to feed my family, Not for fun or a hobby, not even because I'm retired and need something to do, it is my Job and my life, I do not make money at my other job there is no other job!!! If I can't produce fish for my clients it's over in this business, SO YES it really bothers me when I sitting in a place with clients catching fish and a boat just pull's right in, cuts us off, bounces us around with there waves and does not even have the common sense to ask if he can or are you moving this way? Now I have to sit there with my clients who were catching fish and explain why some people are this way, Yes It's makes me mad.. Can I do anything about it, Yes I can, but not with my clients on board, that is just not professional at all. I have had times when I had to move because my clients wanted to climb over into the other boat and go at it, just unreal...

I even tell my clients If you want to fish any of these spots go ahead, just don't fish them out and all understand and respect that. I guess the really bad part of all of this is that I would of said Yes if he just would have asked, just the way I am..

Bill, I hope the person who wrote that email will understand this, ask him what he does for a living and put the shoe on the other foot.. Hopefully he is the sales or service business were his clients are his route to feeding his family and I bet his tune will change..

Ok, well need to let this one go and get back to work, winters coming...

Good Fishing Everyone

Got some junk in the trunk, eh?

J/k. I think it was probably a typo, it just made me chuckle.

:P

You are right , it is funny. However, I actually meant the phrase. You see, my ride is an Xpress HD18CC (aluminum 18 foot center console) with a 97 inch beam, a 68 inch bottom and minimal dead-rise at the transom. Very dry, very stable, so wide that when I fall down I almost always land in the boat, but not fast. I can barely break the night time speed limit with my 2 stroke Yammy 90. On the plus side, I can fish 2 or 3 days on one fill up of 17 gallons.

Sounds like a great boat rps.

Have had a 1760 Lowe Roghneck for 12 years. It's been the best boat a guy could ask for and I will always hold it more dear than my Xpress H51. It's not as "fat bottomed" as yours, but it's chunky enough to be fun.

Just remember, fat boats need lovin' too.

I tried to find one Dance falling in the water off a boat but couldn't - this will do.

My thoughts are this:

1) Boo Hoo.

2) You take people fishing. They pay you for it, and you call it work and on this and other threads it almost sounds like you are complaining about your job.

3) Pros and Guides. 2 things the fishing world could do without.

How do I deal with those who ignore the 50 yard encroachment rule?......I show them just how accurate I am with a crank bait! rtj4bb.gif
