drew03cmc Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Rick, I can't disagree or agree, but I have to say that this crap I am reading in 13 threads about MSA is enough to turn one off to it. Andy
Gavin Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 I've caught trout on the Big Piney before...It was a bit much, but I cant blame you. Just trying to get something going.
Gary Lange Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 Sorry I got all your shorts in a bunch. The MSA is a Conservation Organization much like Trout Unlimited. I posted the message on several streams around this area to attract persons with similar interests. I can see we have some internet Bullies around and name calling is uncalled for and not very family friendly. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!
ness Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Nice reaction fellers. Describing others posts as 'stupid', 'BS', or 'spam' is bad form. Gary -- I applaud you for getting off your can and keyboard and trying to get something going. I'd give these negative posts zero weight. Zero. While I was looking for the exact wording of another quote, I came across this one from RFK: "Few men are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential, vital quality of those who seek to change a world which yields most painfully to change." laker67 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Nice reaction fellers. Describing others posts as 'stupid', 'BS', or 'spam' is bad form. I still say it's overkill. His message is not the issue here. It's more of a shove it down your throat approach.
ness Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 What you click on here is up to you -- can't nobody shove nothing down your throat on a forum. John
eric1978 Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 Take it easy fellas. You guys need to relax and go fishing or something. It's not like Gary's drumming up membership for PETA or something. It's the MSA for God's sake, and they're non-profit. C'mon. Gary, most folks use the "Today's Active Topics" option at the bottom of the main forum page (at least I think they do...that's what I use), so if you post a topic once, chances are it will be seen by all, or at least most. Keep up the good work.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 24, 2010 Root Admin Posted February 24, 2010 Funny how people will use terms on a computer but would never use them face to face. I can see offering your opinion about posting too many times but to go as far as calling it spam, calling another person a retard and taking any kind of offense to any of this is unconscionable. The forum is made up of all kinds of people with all kinds of views. The bigger it grows in membership, the more diverse it becomes. I don't share the same view of some that think the forum has become advertising but that opinion in itself is ok because it's part of the diversity. Some of you guys actually bump into each other down here at Taney... I would rethink how you use your words and especially how you label and treat each other here. Fishing is fun... but people and relationships are far more important.

I agree, but in Flysmallie's defense I have to point out he was being satirical...like Rush was the other day. It was clearly a joke.
Gary Lange Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 Thanks Eric1978 I will look over that Today's Topics. I was looking for something like that but seeing the Ozark Streams and that they are spread out across the area seems liked a good idea. I don't think it hurt anything and all we can do it try to gain more members. I am on a steep learning curve here since I have only lived in the area since 2005 and during that time fished Table Rock in a boat. I was a member and still am a member of the Illinois Smallmouth Alliance and served as the Chicagoland Regional Coordinator for several years before I retired. I set up outing, cleanups and even started the Wednesday Night Smallie Hunters that moved to the weekend Smallie Hunters when the Sun fell to fast. We would meet for breakfast and discuss Smallie fishing and then hit the river it was a fun social time and brought people with similar interests together and ideas came from that. drewo3cmc, You mentioned or I think it was you that you should start a Trout Alliance. That is not a bad idea. A Missouri Trout Alliance dedicated to preserving the great Trout fishing you have in Missouri. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!
