TRRANGER Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hey just to let you know from a guy who has had a boat stolen, tounge locks are not enought. I used one that goes threw and locks the latch down. They cut it and took my boat in broad daylight. You have to slow them down use the type that goes up in the ball mount then lock the latch also. I have also put washers on the latch lock so you cannot get a bolt cutter in the shaft area. I also spent the extra money on a cable type lock that if I am staying in a motel overnight I run it threw the axle and around the trailer. Just to slow the thieves down. We cannot stop them but you have to make yourself a harder target. I feel for you stolen boat no fun at all.
eric1978 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 That SUCKS! That was a nice boat, too. Hope it was insured. Best deterent is to park the '57 Chevy in front of the thing if your driveway is long enough.
Champ188 Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Gorgeous boat and yes, too bad. Thieves obviously weren't too bright — that black/red Cobra is gonna stick out like a sore thumb. Not a lot of them running around.
Flysmallie Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Thieves obviously weren't too bright — that black/red Cobra is gonna stick out like a sore thumb. Not a lot of them running around. That's exactly what I thought.
motoman Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 That's exactly what I thought. +2 Nice boat, what a shame. - Might be worth posting this with pix over at Bass Boat Central too. Maybe in the Lounge and in the Midwestern states forums. They get a lot of traffic over there. - http://bbcboards.zeroforum.com/zeromain
