Sweet potatoes aren't really potatoes, they are in some other plant family. I quote, from Wikpedia:

"The genus Ipomoea that contains the sweet potato also includes several garden flowers called morning glories, though that term is not usually extended to Ipomoea batatas. Some cultivars of Ipomoea batatas are grown as ornamental plants; the name "tuberous morning glory" may be used in a horticultural context."

So next time you are at a family get together for Thanksgiving, ask someone to please pass you the "tuberous morning glory".

Thanks, professor, but I've decided I don't care if a sweet "potato" isn't really a potato, nor do I mind that a Smallmouth "Bass" isn't really a Bass, or that Pluto isn't really a "planet"...

But I am concerned about why some eggs are brown and some are white..

No, don't tell me.. I enjoy pondering.. ;)

And Eric, love ya bro, but I am starting to understand why people got sick of seeing my posts all the time when I first joined OA.... When you guys used to say I had a wise remark about everything.... I used to blow it off.... but now I realize how annoying it is to see some guy give his two pennys about every subject! Was I really posting 10 to 20 posts a day? Do you guys think Eric has me beat or do I still hold the gold ribbon for the biggest mouth on the site?

People didn't get sick of you because you posted a lot, they got sick of you because you are a know-it-all who actually knows nothing, which people find quite annoying. Oh, and it's an average of less than 5 a day, not 10-20. If you don't like what I have to say, stop reading my posts numbskull.

Why is it some of you guys need to resort to name calling like a bunch of children? There is no need for it. You are all supposedly adults so act like it.

If you want a great reel for the river, go on E-bay and find a good Curado 100b. They're light, great casters, and handle light line well.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

So now we all understand what everyones position is on naming what stream they were fishing.

If it's a large well known stream, then it's ok to name the stream.

If it's a drainage ditch with a lot of big smallies, it's ok not to post the name.

If you write a post, it's ok not to include pictures although some msmbers will find it boring and sometimes long winded.

If I keep posting about Crooked Creek, someday there will be no fish in it.

Are we all in agreement so we can close this topic??????

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Sounds about right. Let's end the madness. We have a 3 day weekend with cooler than normal temps. Time for everyone to get out and fish their favorite water.
