Now there really isn't anything wrong with anything listed (except Nickelback)...

And just what is wrong with Nickleback????

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Might not be for everyone, but to me it's an interesting subject. I have to drive along way to get to a trout stream, usually waking up a 3:30 to go(broke law students don't have the $ to get a hotel room). But for me, the drive down there is almost half the fun(the drive back sucks, but that's a different story). So I was wondering, does anyone has a certain type of music they listen to before they go fishing? Or a song that reminds them of fishing? Maybe I'm just weird(ok, I know that I'm weird, but again, a different story there too.)

For me, Neil young is the best music to listen to before I go out. I 25, but I still find his music appealing. Especially, Live at Massey Hall.

What say you?

I usually just listen to the voices in my head. It is the only time they get a chance to come out and play. They dont always make the people around me feel to comfortable. When they speak I listen and most of the time I answer. Talking to them about what what type of tackle to use just really freaks people out. I'm not sure why. I know everyone here has said something like "no I think a 3 inch motor oil gitzit with the tail dipped in char trues craw fish scent should work well" then voice in my heads says "i dont think so" and I kindly reply "well what would you use mister smarty pants" the voice replies with some absurd thing like " a 12 in worm on a #1 hook with polka dots and a pegged bullet weight 14 inches up the line" Now why the waitress at the waffle house gets rattled is way beyond me. I mean after all its 4 am and I am at the Waffle House she had to have heard craziness from the 2 am crowd that my voices would never understand. Will you shut up and let me finish this please I have work to do. No you cant go fishing with me tomorrow you need to go back into my head until I call for you.

Sorry now what was I saying

Oh yea when I do listen to music it a little Rush, Queensryche, Gabriel, Dream Theater, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Marillion etc.

One of my all time favorites.

Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...

Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?

Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.

Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?

Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?

Marty DiBergi: I don't know.

Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?

Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.

Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.

Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?

Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.

dials.jpgEleven (11): Nigel's key to keeping Tap among England's loudest bands. In "This is Spinal Tap," he pointed out to director Marty DiBergi that the settings on Tap's Marshall amps could extend beyond the standard 10 mark. Nigel: "You see, most blokes will be playing at 10. You're on 10, all the way up, all the way up...Where can you go from there? Nowhere. What we do, is if we need that extra push over the cliff...Eleven. One louder." DiBergi: "Why don't you just make 10 louder and make 10 be the top number, and make that a little louder?" Nigel (after taking a moment to let this sink in): "These go to 11." In 1990, Marshall released its JCM900 amp, with the knobs going to 20 (GW2), although Nigel says the company later gave him a special model that goes to infinity (complete with the infinity symbol—an eight on its side—and a dial that keeps spinning around as if it were broken). (EW) The company also makes faceplates for all of its amp models that go to 11. In a 1984 interview, Nigel revealed that his Gibson guitar pickups were modified to go to 11, as well—meaning that with both his amp and guitar turned all the way up, he could hit 22. (GP) A T-shirt that reads "Goes to 11" is now a collector's item because it sold so poorly immediately after DiBergi's film was released. Finally, a posting to the Internet group alt.fan.spinal-tap by Ray Abbitt shed some light on the history of powered amps: "Early Fender Champs (a small, low-powered amp, probably intended for practice) had no controls except for a volume control that went to 11. And from about 5 on up, they didn't get any louder—just more distorted. A number of artists use them for recording and some (including Neil Young) use them for live performances. Most of us who are lucky enough to own one (mine was built in 1953 or 1954) turn them up to 11 cause they sound so darn good." Nigel's now famous phrase have even been recognized by the Oxford English Dictionary.
